There's advantages to all the swing types (and they all still use ratings...hitting power swing won't make Dee Gordon into Gallo )

I love the boldness in your hitting sliders. I see what you're going for.

Always nice to see another high solid hits/low foul frequency person around here.
In some ways, we're not all that different - which is interesting.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders

Another game in, haven't changed any settings from default just yet.

My hitting depth is average and so is my pitching, so it was a bit weird to see me go on on like a 10 game winning streak and being around a 73% win percentage. Some games were close, but my pitchers felt like they were dominating too hard. The only exception is the ones that throw 96+. Also dealing with a lot of injuries/fatigue.

So, like i said before, the first game was 1-7 loss, struggled. Second game was a 7-6 comeback walkoff win. The third game was a low scoring 3-2 win, with 2 homers. The fourth game i walked a lot of missed my spots and gave up early runs. Ended up losing 3-6.

I'll do the pitching changes mentioned above. The only issue i have is balls/walks are just a bit too high. Otherwise, no issues really.

Re: mkharsh33 MLB The Show 18 - simulation sliders

I have played 23 games with these sliders. And moved the sliders when you raised the CPU pitching control and consistency. I am using quick counts as well. I am batting .307 and my BABIP is .373. I am striking out 8.4 times per game so I am happy with those numbers. I switched the Fish Eye 2 to see if I could make it a little more challenging on offense. I’m averaging 1.3 HR per game. Here are my Distribution of hits.

        Me:
        Singles: 64.3%
        Doubles: 20.3%
        Triples: 3.3%
        Home Runs: 12%

I am the Cubs and like I said I’m happy with the hit variety but I need less average.

The CPU is batting .236 and their BABIP is .281. Their average could go a little higher. They hit too many home runs. 15% of their hits are home runs and 47% of the Runs come from home runs. I tried to lower their power to 5 but I think that makes them too weak.

What are your thoughts? I don’t want to go up to Hall of Fame.

The fielding will need some tweaking. 3 times in first 2 inning of a game, outfielder dove for the ball and failed, one ended up being ITPHR. Way too much diving. I have mine on 4 speed, 0 reaction I believe. I’ve seen some at 2 and 2.

Still loving these sliders for hitting and fielding. I don't have any exact numbers, but I have used them for a dozen or so games and it just feels right. Some games are high scoring, some games are low scoring. I fear good pitchers and in general strike out much more than I did on my old settings.

The fielding sliders work really well too. I especially like them for the outfield. There are a lot of natural looking running catches rather than some weird forced animation that sucks an outfielder into making a catch.

I tested your hitting with lowe’s pitching and fielding at 4 spd, 0 reaction. One game so far and loving it!

For anyone still using these - I have updated the SLIDERS (a number of them - so you might want to double-check your numbers/variables). These have been giving me GREAT games with a LOT of VARIETY! I know they're not for everyone, but they play a simulation style of baseball that provide a balance of challenge & fun. Everything noted on page 1 / post 1.

I can't say. I only play them as offline user vs. cpu. And I'm getting great games. I was having troubles in a game yesterday thinking "ok, I've made this too hard for the user." But then I went back to patience at the plate and thinking through the pitches, and as a pitcher being smarter with my pitch location. And then had such a phenomal game experience I was just left in awe of this game. Something so different each time I play.

So I can't help you with your question, but you could maybe give them a try.

NOTE: I'm toying with lowering the USER SOLID HITS down to 5 (from 6). If anything is playing along with these I'll keep you posted. (I acknowledge that I'm new to The Show this year - I'm not a name brand in these forums, but have done a ton of slider/roster work in other games here for OS. I also know these sliders are extremely unconventional and might be scoffed at. But they're playing incredible for me).

Thanks for the quick response . I remember all the work you did with mlb2k. Good to see you on the show thread . I will try them in cpu mode when I get a chance and look forward to your updates .

Just plugged your set in and watched a cpu vs cpu game . Dodgers beat the Redsox 8-4. Very entertaining game . Kershaw struggles in the first inning giving up 3 runs . 2were a blast from JD. Sale was cruising along until the 5th were he gave up 5 and then exited after 5 and 1/3. Kershaw lasted 7 innings 112 pitches . 6 home runs between the two teams. Great Job on these .

Been thinking about your question - maybe, just maybe - the one thing I'd do for CPU vs CPU games is to tone down the CPU SOLID HITS down to maybe 6??

I did this for user vs cpu games because I want the batter to strike fear in me. If I know he's capable of crushing me then I'll be forced to pitch around the zone. unfortunately (for me) pitching in any baseball game is too easy. even on the hardest difficulty levels I'm able to nail my spots. so maybe try that.

I also made TWO CHANGES (1/24/19):

                              - lowered human solid hits to 5 (down from 6)
                              - raised cpu batting foul frequency to 4 (up from 3)
