I know we have a lot of Yankees users here. I have asked this in the trade thread but I didn’t get a response. I’m 64-38 with the Yankees and 5.5 games behind the Red Sox. I’m at the end of the July and would like to get a starting pitcher. I have my eyes on Trevor Bauer. The only thing is the Indians are in 1st place but they are needing a 2B and OF. When I try to make a trade they are demanding Andujar and I think they even wanted Tanaka. I offered them Frazier and even Florial but it doesn’t even come close to them accepting it. I can switch sides and accept it but I feel like I’m cheesing the CPU since they won’t accept it from my end.

I was even thinking of doing a 3 way with the Reds. The Indians would get Puig, Alex Wood, and Scooter Gennett who are having good years but they are all free agents after this season except for Wood. I would get Bauer and the Reds would get Frazier and German and another piece.

          What do you guys think?

You gotta make a fair deal.

The 3 way deal you have there makes sense. The Tribe get's Scooter, Puig and Woods, German and Frazier are excellent young pieces going to the Reds and you get Baur.

Not really a true help but you could up the offspeed pitch speed by 1 so it brings the speed a little closer. I use 5 fastball and 6 offspeed to do this and it makes some difference. With it only being 1 higher it still feels like offspeed but a little easier to time.

To get Bauer you would have to throw Garcia into the deal. Gennett wouldn't be a consideration.

Depending on what the count is try to sit back just a smidgen more and try to pick up ASAP any kind of spin or “hump” coming from the baseball out of the pitchers hand, which will indicate offspeed. Still sit fastball and react to breaking stuff, but if a guy has killer breaking stuff then u gotta adjust accordingly. Also looking for balls in a certain location can help!

Turn guess pitch on for a few games and only guess changeup. I did this in ‘17 and it helped me a lot. I still get fooled by them but I definitely have an easier time recognizing them more than I did before.

You can also put pitch speed down to 4 which will give you more time to recognize what pitch is coming.

Hey everyone , I'm looking for some help / advice . For about 100 games I played using Josh's all star sliders and at 1st they worked great , but as the games went by I learned more and got better n better to the point where it became to easy . I was striking out far too many batters with pitchers that had no business sitting that many down on strikes . Using the Jays I was leading the league with the best ERA , strikeouts total and whip .

So made the switch to HOF and the 1st 18 games were simply amazing , stats and scores were all extremely Realsitic and couldn't be happier , but the last 20 games have become oddly very difficult and just crazy . I'm giving up 10-15 hits per game on average now and I can't win a game . Just very unrealistic stats and games in the last 20 , is this just the norm that can occur during the course of a very long season and do I just stick with it and trust the sliders? Or is this just simply proving to be to difficult for me ..... I don't want to pitch with any visual aid or ball marker or anything like that , so is there a slider I can adjust to help me out ? I would really appreciate any advice / help

                          3 MONTH/MIDSEASON REPORT:
Through June 30 rather than All Star Break or 81 games

Team Record: 56-28, 1st AL East, 8.5 games ahead of 2nd place Red Sox

                          Lineup and basic stats

                          3B LeMahieu .286/.346/.346 (0 HR 24 RBI)
                          RF Judge .280/.362/.506 (17 HR 44 RBI)
CF Hicks .281/.351/.508 (9 HR 30 RBI) - missed some time with injury
                          C Sanchez .257/.334/.563 (24 HR 49 RBI)
SS Gregorius .351/.442/.649 (5 HR,14 RBI) - 19 games, started year on IL
                          1B Voit .251/.313/.388 (10 HR 40 RBI)
                          DH Stanton .228/.334/.431 (13 HR 39 RBI)
                          2B Torres .276/.348/.395 (5 HR 30 RBI)
                          LF Gardner .275/.352/.442 (8 HR 33 RBI)

Kind of surprised by the (somewhat) lack of home runs, especially from certain players like Torres, Voit, Hicks, and LeMahieu who has decent power ratings and is crushing IRL.
Stanton's average was .212 until last game he went 4 for 4 with 2 HR. Hopefully he can keep that up because he has been dreadful at the plate all year. He had two hits in the month of May... eventually had to yank him from the cleanup spot and bump him to 7th. Might swap him and Voit soon since Voit has been struggling mightily after a hot start and Stanton seems to be picking it up.

                          Bench/IL/Minors
                          3B Andujar .261/.307/.437 (9 HR 33 RBI) - 272 AB's (IL currently)
                          OF Tauchman .286/.315/.443 - 70 AB's (AAA currently)
                          1B Bird .115/.230/.250 - 52 AB's (AAA currently)
                          OF Frazier .286/.400/.286 - 21 AB's (AAA, IL currently)
                          OF Maybin .333/.400/.389 - 18 AB's (MLB Bench currently)
                          IF Urshela .162/.225/.216 - 37 AB's (MLB Bench currently)
                          C Romine .250/.317/.347 - 72 AB's (MLB Bench currently)

I've had some of these guys going back and forth between AAA and the Bronx all year so many have seen inconsistent playing time. Andujar just hit the IL so Urshela should be up for a while, but with Voit, Didi, DJLM, and Torres it'll be hard to get him regular at bats.

*Have tried to use an opener twice with moderate success

Ottavino started the year out of the setup role and was atrocious to start. Kahnle was dealing so I switched them and it's worked out well.
Ottavino continued to struggle for a few outings but turned it around since. Kahnle is still dealing from the setup role so I'm leaving it how it is for now. Betances was insane to start the year, with a 0.00 ERA going into June. In early June, he gave up his first run(s) of the year and has been struggling a bit since.
Chapman has been lights out all year.

                          Overall thoughts:

Pitching, especially the bullpen, is the main reason we are where we are in the standings, contrary to the real Yankees. We have been fortunate to not have any injuries to anyone in our staff, rotation or bullpen, all year aside from CC missing his first two starts, which is crazy with the injury slider at 9.

Hitting has been inconsistent and as you can see there are some underperformers. While we're 9th in AVG, 3rd in Runs, and 7th in Home Runs (MLB rankings, not AL), it just hasn't "felt" like the offense has clicked really all year aside from a few games here and there. A lot of times it feels like we struggle to manufacture runs and keep up with our pitching. The offense feels like a struggle and just doesn't feel smooth like it's firing at anywhere close to 100%, even when we're winning games. My user patience/eye has been off this year, which I'm sure could have a lot to do with it. My personal plate discipline just hasn't been there, I've been anxious and overly aggressive at the plate way too often (14th in MLB in walks). Beyond even lacking plate discipline, I feel like I am having a harder time than in the past distinguishing balls and strikes. Been tinkering with camera angles and hasn't helped much. Not sure what it is. This season is just a grind I guess! Certainly feels like it. Having a blast regardless!

                          Comments/feedback/thoughts always appreciated and welcome!

SU Kahnle 0.92 ERA 29.1 IP
CP Chapman 1.66 ERA 38.0 IP, 31 saves, 1 blown save

I’m at the end of July with the Yankees and LeMaheu is hitting .306 0 HR 24 RBI. Funny how the numbers are comparable.

Ride it out. That’s baseball and this game really replicates the ebbs and flows of a long season. I had a dreadful first month of my season, couldn’t hit a thing and my pitchers looked like they were tossing beach balls up there. Fast forward a month later and I’m in the middle of a 13 game winning streak where I’m hitting everything and my pitchers have been lights out.
