I am going to try hum contact at 5 and solid hits at 3. I just hope I don’t nerf my offense too much by lowering solid hits.

FenwayMac - I thought these were going to be way too tough, in past years I did run Legend on Pitching, but not hitting. Running Zone/Meter, 3 games in and I love these sliders, hit variety, defense, etc. seem to be spot on.

I'll report back after a bit more of a sample size (that and I'm the Braves and have played 1 against the Padres and 2 agsinst the Marlins, so that may have something to do with it).

Re: FenwayMac 2019 Pure Legend Sliders Meter/Zone

One of my annual traditions each year is falling into an inexplicable hitting slump. This game is kind of like golf in a way. Just have to hit through it though. As a result I have gone homerless in three games but have found enough timely hits to sweep my two game home set against Toronto.

I squeaked out a 7-6 walk-off sac fly win this morning after leading 6-2 going into the eighth. Just another reminder to myself to never let off the gas until the final out!

Time to find a live chicken to sacrifice. Slump buster!

I’m going to make the jump to legend hitting using directional. Couldn’t tone my average. We will see how that goes.

This is exactly why Colonel Sanders was always such a consistent hitter.

I’ve switched to directional with sliders as is. Works fantastic.

Using legend? I tried but i struggled. Faster pitch speeds and it seemed like I was popping everything up.

Yes on Legend. I actually upped pitch speeds to 7, I was early on everything at 5. My average with the Indians is sitting around .260 through 15 games

If you’re struggling I’d suggest upping human timing to 6.

Currently in hitting “recalibration” mode which is essentially working on my discipline by shortening up my zone coverage, identifying pitch type etc. I was flailing at far too many garbage pitches and the CPU has zoned in on that lately. No homers yet, but hit the ball much more squarely this morning and homers are sure to follow soon.

Good new is that my pitching rotation and decisions have been spot-on lately and I have still getting W’s. Ultimately that should level off as well, so the sooner I correct my hitting the better!

I am also in recalibration mode! Had 1 run on 4 hits today vs Detroit. My approach was awful.

Game before that I scored 13 runs

Home run slump was broken by a two-run shot by Jackie Bradley Jr in the second inning of my Patriots Day game against Baltimore. Recalibration does work, as it retrains me to really watch the ball flight. Eventually it will feel natural again. Plus the walks are starting to come again.

Unfortunately Baltimore also chose this game to wake the bats up, and I lost 5-3. Gotta have a short memory...

Game #2 of the Red Sox-Yankees series was a battle of the unbeatens, Eduardo Rodiguez (3-0) and Luis Severino (3-0). This game definitely delivered the goods as both pitchers dominated the strike zone and kept this to a pitching duel throughout.

Lot of fun here as I worked out of several jams against a very dangerous team. I was also able to homer for the third straight game, and also put an end to Aaron Judge's ridiculous 16-game hit streak.

On to Tampa! I wonder if the rabid Pedroia ***** ("Don't strike out Pedroooooia") will follow me down to St Pete. That fan is well travelled.

Plenty of fist-pumping moments in the opener with Tampa. I LOVE working out of jams, and there were several in this game. I am also glad I am taking the time to work on my hitting discipline as I had my first multi-homer game since the second game of the season! I feel much more in control of at-bats and end hit result/location. I hit an absolute bomb with Mitchy four-bags where I traced a slider all the way into the zone. Felt great.

20 games in the books. I will start to compile stats to see where the sliders are falling as the sample size grows.
