Re: FenwayMac 2019 Pure Legend Sliders Meter/Zone

20 games have come and gone! I really am enjoying how this set is playing out and I find myself less scrutinizing the sliders and more just getting lost in the season storylines, which is a great thing. Thank you to everybody who is giving these a shot!

Here is the breakdown through 20 games:

    2019 MLB Averages
    1B: 61.8%
    2B: 20.6%
    3B : 1.9%
    HR : 15.7%

    HUM Averages (% difference)
    1B: 67.4% (+5.6%)
    2B: 21.4% (+0.8%)
    3B : 2.2% (+0.3)
    HR : 9.0% (-6.7%)

Summary: My hitting "recalibration" has taken a toll on my hitting, mainly for power. This is definitely on the upswing though, as I have hit six homeruns in the last four games as my discipline is continuing to improve.

    CPU Averages (% difference)
    1B: 58.4% (-3.4%)
    2B: 23.5% (+2.9%)
    3B: 4.2% (+2.3%)
    HR: 13.9% (-1.8%)

Summary: I am doing a pretty good job of keeping the CPU hits in the park with good pitching. Legend hitting demands power though, and the CPU is making up for lack of HR's with a slightly elevated doubles and triples. I expect these to drop over the next 10 games.

    MLB AVG: .244
    HUM AVG: .252 (+0.8%)
    CPU AVG: .241 (-.03%)

Summary: I am less one percent on the high side, and the CPU is less than .5% on the low side. Right in the ballpark considering I sit at 12-8.

    MLB K's per game: 8.8
    HUM K'S per game: 8.7 (-0.1)
    CPU K's per game: 8.3 (-0.5)

Summary: I really like this number as K's seem to garner a lot of conversation this season. Both of these stats are right there with league average. Feels very realistic.

    MLB BB per game: 3.4
    HUM BB's per game: 2.8 (-0.6)
    CPU BB's per game: 1.7 (-1.7)

Summary: HUM is running just a tick low as I ran through my hacking phase. I have averaged 3.75 since recalibration, so these are back on the climb. As for the CPU, this is largely a result of how I attack the strike zone. Especially when I am leading by several runs I really attack the zone and challenge the CPU to beat me. As a result I am walking less batters. IF this continues, I might consider lowering control another tick, but for now I am chalking this up to my pitching strategy.

    MLB BABIP per game: .292
HUM BABIP per game: .310 (+.18)
CPU BABIP per game: .280 (-0.12)

Summary: Both of these are in reasonably good range, with mine a little on the high side due to lack of homeruns lately.

    MLB hits per game: 8.2
HUM hits per game: 8.9 (+0.7)
CPU hits per gam: 8.3 (+0.3)

Summary: I am really happy with both of these numbers. Part of the reason I went to legend hitting was because of my elevated hit totals on HOF. Both offenses are right in realistic range and feel great.

    MLB runs per game: 4.6
    HUM runs per game:4.1 (-0.5)
    CPU runs per game:4.0 (-0.6)

Summary: Both a little low, but nothing too alarming. I have only shut out my opponent twice in 20 games, and been shut out only once. The great variety of games has allowed for both high and low scoring affairs.

Just a handful of stats that I track. If you are looking for any other team stats or individual player stats, just let me know what you would like to see. In my next post I will also cover the scoring play type percentages, as these (so far) have spread the scoring plays out pretty nicely.

I’ve played probably over 100 games and have yet to see an injury in this years game, anybody else having this issue or no?

I have had a few, but they never turn out to be as serious as the description of the injury.

Fenway this last patch one of the notes said they decreased timing Windows to increase strikeouts, so I’m wondering how this will alter things, I wish they would of just left it! Lol

Not overly concerned about it. Numbers look good and if anything the more games I play the less misses anyways, so this keeps the challenge there.

Fenway, I was checking out your spreadsheet. It looks like you and the PC are hitting .390+ for average. Everything but the lower HR average seems pretty accurate. Can you think of a way to lower the BA to a more realistic one while keeping the rest (2b, 3b, etc) the same?

I wish I was hitting .390!! Latest after 35 games is HUM hitting .259 and CPU hitting .258. Top two rows have the cumulative averages for the season.

How are your HR/Gm looking? I’m loving the set just the HRs are low on both sides.

Uptick recently, but if does not continue after 40-game mark I may try increasing power to 5 for 10 games. I think player fatigue is having an effect.

Re: FenwayMac 2019 Pure Legend Sliders Meter/Zone

After a horrible stretch of hitting and losing eight out of 10 games, May has been kind to my team as I have reeled of six straight and have apparently straightened out my batters eye as my miss% and strikeouts have improved significantly during my run. What a game.

The boxscore below is I believe my second or third since the latest patch. From my perspective I have not seen either a drop in power or a lack of solid hits. In fact I believe that the variety has actually felt a little better as it seemed like there were a lot more laser shots (especially down the line) before.

I paid a bit more attention this game and saw liners, bloopers, majestic doubles, a no-doubt HR, and even a homerun that literally hit the top of the wall. Sacrifice fly's are also present. Strikeout totals also remain good. At least from a small sampling, things seem pretty good from an offensive standpoint.

Heavily considering bumping Cpu power back to 7. They aren’t much of a threat to me at all at the moment!

How are your human HRs at power 4? I’m thinking human power 5 CPU 7 the rest as per OP.

I have actually bumped mine up to 5 for the last five games or so. I have definitely seen an uptick in doubles but not necessarily home runs, and certainly not more no-doubters. I may actually move it back down. It would Ben interesting to hear your experience.

How are your cpu foul numbers? I feel like the cpu fouls tough pitches too easy. Maybe take it down to 3?

Yeah, I would probably say so. I am at the 40-game mark so this would be a good time for me to plug it in as well. Right now FB for CPU is about 5% high. I’ll give it a go and see if it drops much.
