I saw your slider version 1.5, and I’m comparing things to your very first version which I’m still using with slight adjustments. How much of an impact do you feel (contact, power, solid hits,) have on the outfielders and the baserunners and interaction as far as extra base hit, attempted stretch singles ect.

In your first version ( which is why I’m still using them) contact 5 / power 6 / solid hits 1/ the fielding settings
I believe were at fielders speed 3/ reaction 3 / baserunning 4.. With these settings I am getting many realistic baserunning scenarios, baserunners thrown out at second trying to stretch ect. However I’m also getting a lot of gap doubles where runners get easy stand up doubles. Been wanting to close that gap with outfielders but whenever I raise fielders speed or raise baserunning ect the baserunning and outfielders interaction is bland.
No dynamics in aggressiveness baserunning..no close plays at third second, or runners being gunned down

Looking at your V1 sliders I see contact / power/ solid hits/ are changed as is baserunning speed and fielders reaction and speed . I’m just wondering what you find with this version in the baserunning outfielders interaction, and how much of a balancing act with hitting sliders and fielding sliders play into this.
Hitting sliders have nothing to do with how fielders move and react.

As for v1, any discussion is moot since there have been so many patches already.

Now, there is a balancing act between getting the proper output between hit type and a fielder's ability, but that's it.

    I'd recommend using v1.5.

Sorry, Mike. It is the foul ball percent from strikes thrown. So basically it is from strikes thrown instead of pitches thrown.

I track foul % from total pitches.

I'm 25 games into my Padres test (truly a STL fan) franchise (5 times through the rotation) and am posting my experience here. Team is 19-6.

I'm still on V1.3 as I'm already experience plenty of user offense and am afraid of the newest version. Settings are exactly the same as the OP (auto fielding, meter, zone, Legend, etc.) Roster set is the OS Full minors V2.

Averages per game: (All are presented as "User / Opponent")

          Runs: 5.4 / 3.4

          Hits: 9.1 / 8.2

          BB's: 4.1 / 2.0

          SO's: 8.3 / 8.2

          2B's: 2.1 / 2.1

          3B's: 0.3 / 0.1

          HR's: 1.8 / 1.2

          Team BABIP: .306 / .291

          Pitch data:

Presented as "User Batting / User Pitching"

          Pitches/gm: 151 / 130

          Strike %: 59% / 66%

          1st pitch strike: 60% / 65%

          Foul %: 15% / 17%

          Whiffs(miss+k) 35% / 27%

          Notables:

Tatis Jr. hit for the cycle AND Wil Myers hit 3 HR in the same game!

2x No-hitter bids by Chris Paddack (one into the 9th vs COL, one into 7th vs SF) both times he was in the RED or complete out of energy

1x No-hitter bids by Lamet (into 7th vs Cubs)

          Around the leage:

6 complete games thrown in total, all by AL clubs, 2 by Verlander.

Most stats look in check but I feel the competition could use a boost. Specifically my pitching walks are too low at 2.0/game and my HR's are a bit high 1.8/game (3rd overall behind NYY & HOU).

Kudos to Mike for this set (version 1.3). Just curious if I should adjust either HUM control AND/OR consistency to bump up my walks? I'm not sure it makes sense for me to move from 1.3 to 1.5 given the output I'm seeing.

Looks great. I'd keep your hitting at v1.3 like you have (or even 1.4 which iirc makes it tougher), but then use 1.5 for your pitching/AI hitting.

Re: Mike Lowe MLB The Show 20 Sliders

In the past, I’ve played every pitch of every game on Legend/Legend. Last year I used your sliders and I’m using them this year.

Only difference is, I really want to get through a few seasons this year. Last year I played every game and it took me the whole year as every game was about 1- 1:30 hours.

I’ve switched to Quick counts this year and I’ve already played 50 games as games take about 25 minutes now.

I don’t know my exact record off the top of my head, but my record is really good. Something like 40-15.
I’m using Atlanta and my only roster change has been acquiring Jorge Soler.

Now, The Show is probably the game I’m best at. I’ve played since 06? I believe and I find myself over performing a lot when I want more of a challenge. That’s definitely because of my skill level and NOT your sliders. You’re sliders have been great. Last year I won 125 games with ATL and had two guys hit 65+ homers lol. I’m a big sim guy so I hate seeing those numbers.

Basically I’m curious to see if anyone has any tips they’ve been using and if quick counts drastically effect gameplay.

I’m tied with the Twins at the top for HR’s. My team ERA is below 3, so I’m constantly adjusting sliders to make it tougher. Currently on a 13 game win streak so nothing is working lol.

Any help/tips appreciated. As stated earlier, I’m using the latest version of 1.5, only change is pitch speeds are 7 each.

I figured I’d post here to see what you offered as a change in sliders, I’m not too sure how each slider affects long term stats so I figured you could lead me in the right direction.

                Thanks!

You're doing the right thing increasing items a notch here and there. I'd say the biggest impact sliders would be:

                      User contact
                      User timing
                      User solid hits
                      Pitch speed

Same thing for the AI, just reversed obviously.

Then leave contact where it is and lower solid hits and timing, but in that order.

You could also lower them both a notch at a time together since I think you said you're drawing plenty of walks too and not striking out. I'd do that--move those two sliders down in pairs.

I’m in the same boat. Most of my numbers are bang on except the HR numbers are inflated. Essentially I’d like to keep my hit numbers but “convert” some of the HRs to 1B 2B hits. I don’t think it’s as simple as reducing power to 3 as they will just end up as caught flyballs?

What are your swing and miss numbers looking like as well as your foul ball percentage? If the former is too low and the latter is too high, you could try:

                            1) Decrease user timing
                            2) Increase user user foul ball
                            3) Decrease user power or solid hit of both

                              1) Decrease user timing
                              2) Increase user user foul ball
                              3) Decrease user power or solid hit of both
Thanks for the quick response Mike! The sliders are great.
I would say my swing and miss are usually north of 21% and my foul numbers are close but at times do drop below 15%. I’ve also considered pitch speed since this year seems it’s a lot easier to be early on fastballs.

I've noticed when automatic running is set and I have a man on second and my hitter at bat hits a sure double up the right center field alley my runner on third only goes to third. What gives?
