Almost every offspeed pitch. Sometimes I'll try to catch a batter off guard with one for a strike tho. I'll also aim some fastballs extremely high or low, depending on tha at-bat

For you guys that are using Armor’s sliders for hitting and Josh’s for pitching, what do you use for fielding?

Sometimes those pitches will catch corners due to natural inaccuracy and still be hittable before then, but that's the general rule that I follow.

Of course, if I start out behind in the count as the pitcher I'm going to throw fastballs in the zone more to avoid giving up easy walks (though I still try to stay out of the middle - deep strikes are rarely if ever a good idea).

For this reason it's difficult to put a number on it like you're asking for - because every at-bat is different.
        Good tips thanks guys.

I'm down for this. You have never led us astray. I am especially thankful for your testing as I only play 5-7 games a week and would rather use those games to move my franchise forward while trusting your testing.

          It is awesome!!!

How about a strategy like do you throw strikes early in the count with fastballs every time and then throw junk?

I usually do this, especially to hitters who are not as dangerous. Getting strike 1 is of utmost importance in my opinion. I will sometimes pitch backwards to a very dangerous hitter to try and steal a strike or get weak contact.
Also you have to consider your pitcher's stuff. A guy like Reyes Moronta for me has a 99 h/9 and 95 k/9 so I can throw more fastballs in the zone and trust his elite stuff to get hitters out. A guy like Samardzija who has very average stuff I absolutely have to mix speed and location and pitch to the corners mostly at the knees.

That's now 13 straight for the Ray's since our walk off Grand Slam! Meadows is now hitting .421 with 6 Homers and 14 rbis during that span! The Rays are now 30-17 and are tied with the Boston Redsox in the AL East!

Sorry. I meant the fielder speed and reaction. Armor has it at 4 and Josh has it at default.

I like going fastball, fastball in another location and then change up or breaking ball for tha strikeout. If I tha count goes past 2-2, I'll aim in or out of tha zone, fastball or offspeed, depending on hitter and situation. Once I figure out what pitches I have more control with that game, I'll use those more frequently.

I was curious really how often any of you mix up your routine throughout a game. Or if y'all pretty much just stick to your game plan each inning. Like if you sense the hitters are getting aggressive early in the count because you're going in there early with fastballs, do you start throwing intentionally out of the zone early in the count to get them out of rhythm......

It's not bad. But I cannot listen to it for 162 anymore.
I turn off the broadcast announcers altogether (I’ve been doing this in Madden for years). It gives me the feel that I’m literally at the park: PA announcers only, the crowd, stadium music through the PA speakers, the most amazing sound effects in the sports gaming world, clean screen, no visuals - all I need is peanuts, crackerjacks, Willie, Mickey, and the Duke... This is my personal taste, and it’s the way I enjoy simulation baseball.

FYI: I’ll increase the broadcast volume prior to advancing to the next calendar day, at the same time I change the INJ slider to 6.. This allows me to enjoy the daily recap. I’ll turn the setting back to zero after the recap is over; at that time I revert the INJ slider back to 10.

I’m sure some of you already do this. For anyone that hasn’t - give it a shot, why not?

I need to pay attention to that, because sometimes I'll just keep throwing a "get me over fastball" and tha CPU will start crushing those. Each game is different, each inning is different and each hitter is different, so yea sometimes throwing intentionally out of tha zone early is effective.

Okay yeah because I'm noticing that at times, especially when you can sense the CPU is getting a momentum shift, and I can tell as soon as I put anything in the zone its going to get crushed.
