Armor, how many games have you played at this point? Are you leaning towards any specific adjustments?

Obviously there’s a lot of talk about home runs being a little high, but I’m definitely not quite ready to make an adjustment. I think people are forgetting that last year was unprecedented in terms of home runs. I posted somewhere in another thread that (or maybe even this one) that there were 15 teams that set new franchise records for most homers in a season. So I think we need to keep that in mind.

Well Armor can tell you his feelings but through 22 games for me I'm averaging 1.6 a game and the CPU is averaging 1.4 a game. Perfect for me

I'm not seeing out of control Hr numbers.

That is very subjective, truthfully, there isn't one. Ridin's new roster will be out in a day or two. There is a guy with a decent roster out but it still includes the options issues as he used the base file before the patch.

When u go search the rosters u can just sort them by highest rating or amount of downloads to see which are the most accurate and most popular . Nothing really great out just yet

Any guys find a set up to decrease all these homers ? I've got 30 games played so far , 15 with power on default 5 and solid hits 4 , pitch speed always 8 and 10 , then the last 15 games played with power on 4 and solid hits 4 and still hitting 3 homers on avg per game with the Jays . Today I'm going to legend and see how that goes , I'm just curious what others are doing to combat this problem of all these homers . Teoscar Hernandez has 15 homers and over 30 rbis now in 30 games ! Hitting over 350. Slugging over .750 and OPS above 1.200. It's just getting so unrealistic and its like a arcade game now

I am going to make a general statement here. A lot of us have been playing this game a very long time. Case and point:

I started on Veteran back on MLB 2009 with hitting. I used to make hybrid sliders with veteran hitting and all-star pitching. It stayed that way till MLB 13. Then I went straight AS level.

Then on MLB 17 we made the move to HOF hitting and AS pitching....then we finally mid season went straight HOF.

We are all going to get better. Maybe you need to move up to Legend and start there.

I am not experiencing arcade like power.......I am having a blast.

I will have a killer HOF slider set out soon.....but keep in mind....it is based on my playing skill level. Not yours.

This is encouraging seeing it took years to progress and get better for you. My first Show experience was 19 and I am not near as advanced a hitter as you guys. But I can pitch at this level. So I have used the OP as my base set and bumped Human Contact to 6 and Human Timing to 6. This works great for my skill level as I'm still easily fooled by the slider and low changeup. My variance in outcomes is great and fun. Also I always pay for a bad plate approach at this set and am rewarded when I get the process right. I went 82-80 year 1 with a Giant's team upgraded through a few trades so I'd say I'm onto something for my style of play.

Yeah and seems that San Diego studios took that to another level with this game . They for sure took that into consideration and I think they overdid it with the power this year . 30 games in I have 61 homers , and 15 games played on power 5 , solid hits 4 and last 15 games played power 4 and solid hits 4 . On 19 I started to crush as well after a time , but after I moved up in pitch speeds that all stopped and I was challenged again and performing as I should with my team . But here it's just a non stop slug fest for me .

I actually learned this from Josh on his slider set and experimented with it and found this to be more effective for me than adjusting pitch speed. I found human timing at 4 on All Star to be equal to 6 on HOF for my skill level. If that makes sense.

I can’t vouch for Zone hitting. I simply do not test on it.
