I’m continuing my 20 franchise with the Cubs. I’m 6-8 right now and in 3rd place. We are struggling offensively just like the real life cubs. We lost Baez to a fractured hand for 2-3 months. Hoerner and Duffy is just not cutting it. We signed Josh Reddick to a one year deal to get some offense. We just can’t get runners on base consistently and can’t get the big hits. Hoping this turns around or it will be a long year.

Just played a game on ‘21 with these sliders and the clean approach... it was the best and most realistic game I’ve played yet! OUTSTANDING job!Comment

‘21 gameplay is better than ‘20 which is crazy because ‘20 was great. Having so much fun with ‘21!

So for those that have moved onto 21....give them a whirl. I used them at my buddy’s house again last night (yes played 21 again for a few hours and....no not buying it). Gameplay on 21 is great as expected. But that is all it gives and for me gameplay is #1 in the grand scheme....but I gotta have everything else (classic rosters, SOTS, and I HATE THE COLORS OF THE NEW SCORE BUG and the bat sounds are an abortion compared to 20). And gameplay on 20 is still outstanding and I have everything I want. Now Playing on PS5:

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
So I have a very tough decision to make in my Braves franchise and want your guys opinion.
So The last time I posted about my franchise was when Freddie Freeman got hurt and was going to be out for 2 1/2 months. So Freddie is about to come off the IL and I have a big decision to make about his future.
The way we played without Freddie has made this very freaking hard. We went 36-15 without him and averaged 6 runs a game. We lead the league in runs scored HR slugging and are 4th in batting average.
It is July 5th in my franchise and the trade deadline is coming fast. Freddie is a free agent at the end of the season and will be 32 years old. Last season he was the mvp of the league when he hit 327 with 62 hr and 167 rbi. This year before he was injured he was struggling hitting only 245. He was starting to get hot right before the injury.
So what do I do. Of course I want Freddie to be a Brave for life but he is going to want a huge contract at the end of the season and there is no way I’m giving him a deal more than 5 years. Camargo Duvall and d’Arnaud have played great filling in at first and Camargo is having a career year. I play d’Arnaud at first a lot since I traded for Mitch graver last season when d’Arnuad got hurt.
My team is pretty damn stacked. So do I trade Freddie before the deadline for a Top of the line Ace pitcher or resign him or ride out the season and than see what happens in free agency.
Sorry this was so long but I wanted to lay everything out for you guys. This is the hardest decision Ive ever had to make in the show. Lol. Help!!!!!!

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
Just curious - how often do you listen to the catcher? I play on HOF, with Armour’s sliders, and API on.
I tend to listen to the catcher around 90% of the time. But I may pitch the pitch he is asking for but a different location (usually farther off the plate) or pitch to the location he is asking for but with a different pitch.
Because this game is so stats based, I wonder if you are “supposed” to listen to the catcher to get more of that simulation feel and let the ratings take over?
I’ve had the catcher call REALLY good games using this approach (have never thrown a no-hitter but several 1-4 hitters). I’ve also had games where I think the catcher is drunk behind the plate.
For example, I had my Yankees go into Baltimore with Cole on the mound. I won the game 9-7, but Cole was a bit “un-Cole like” giving up 3 runs in 7 innings on 8 hits and only 6 k’s. My bullpen couldn’t get anybody out in the last 2 innings and almost blew it.
Then the next game with Kluber on the mound I win 8-1. Kluber goes 7 innings, giving up 3 hits, and 9 k’s.
I like to simplify the game as much as possible to avoid human error, which is why I use this approach.
I also assume the catcher must know the opposing hitter’s strengths and weaknesses so I tend to trust their judgement most of the time.
Thoughts? Thanks
Update - switched to my Reds franchise and destroying the Cards 9-0 after 5. Gray has allowed 2 hits and has 9 k’s. Goldschmidt and Arenado are both 0-2 with 2 k’sYankees modern day

I wish they would have a catcher rating on game calling. Or a good framer to give you a couple more calls. Then you would have a choice if you want a offensive catcher or a catcher that can handle your staff better.Follow me on Twitch

Re: Armor & Swords MLB The Show 20 Classic/Directional Clean Screen Simulation Slider
I listen to my catcher most of the time. If I know my slider is working good I’ll use that on 2 strikes to try to strike them out. Sometimes I just use a different location.

Not sure what he is asking yet. I definitely agree with what you said and will be in some serious negotiations with Freddie and I hope I can keep him a Brave.

Yeah man I can’t see myself doing that either. But I have such a stacked team and want to make sure I can keep fried sorkia and Anderson for my future when it is time to resign those guys. It just has me thinking about life without Freddie.
