First month down, Braves are leading the majors in homeruns and doubles.. Yankees are only 2 back in homeruns and they came out of nowhere to get there.. mid April they weren’t even top 10 and now #2 to start May. The big surprise is Ozzie Albies with a .245 average, not only leading the Braves with 12 homeruns, but one behind NL leader Mookie Betts. Freddie Freeman has caught fire after a slow start picking his average up from .121 to .326 with 7 homeruns in the last 11 games. Austin Riley is riding a 17 game hit streak into May with a .252 average. Ronald Acuna jr is leading the team and the majors in doubles. Mike Soroka is 5-0 with a 1.13 ERA. Mac Fried has pitched well, even recording a No Hitter, my first ever in the Show, but just isn’t getting the run support with a 1-2 record.

With pitchers and hitters on fire throughout April, I can’t help but wonder how long until the cold streak shows it’s ugly head.

I’ve never played a season other than the current year. But I was a big fan of those 1998 Yankees so I might try this as well

I don’t believe you can put teams in different divisions or play with a schedule other than the 2020 schedule . I’ve never looked for an option to do so honestly

So Ozzie Albies shocks Freeman and Acuna to win the Hr derby. The smallest man in the feild made the biggest impression at the hr derby. After winning his first round match up Albies took on Freeman in round 2. Albies hit 21 he and put the pressure on Freddie. Freddie started off slow but came back with a vengeance but fell short with 17 hr.

On the other side of the bracket Acuna crusied to the final ro take on Ozzie. Ozzie hit 8straight hr to start the final and would go on and finish with 25 hr. Acuna just like Freddie couldn't handle the pressure and came on late but ran out of time and lost 25-22. That was alot of fun and pretty damn exciting.

I suggest learning how to pitch with it turned off. It will take a couple games but it becomes very immersive and rewarding.

The only thing holding me back from starting a season with the 1998 Yankees is that they were SO dominate in winning the AL East by 22 games and basically cruising to winning the World Series. Might be too easy??

Since when is winning....not fun? That team is a blast to play with. And I can bet you....that you will not win 114.

                    My mojo finally ran out...

                    JUNE 28, 2020 | BRONX, NY

Once again the Chicago Cubs battled back from an early deficit but a pair of homers late were too much to overcome this time as they fell to the New York Yankees Sunday night, ending an impressive 10-game winning streak. "It was an amazing road trip and a crazy stretch for us," said Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo after the game. "We battled back over and over and proved just how resilient we are."

Jose Quintana completed six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out five. Quintana earned a no-decision. Ian Happ and Albert Almora Jr. hit back-to-back home runs to kickoff the fourth inning after the Cubs fell behind, 3-0. The pair of home runs made the game 3-2 and two innings later Victor Caratini drove in the tying run on an RBI single.

Tied at three in the top of the seventh, Gio Urshela knocked a solo homer off of Cubs reliever Brad Wieck to put the Yankees back out in front. An inning later Giancarlo Stanton added another run with his own solo shot off of Jeremy Jeffress. All five Yankees came by way of home run.

In the bottom of the ninth hard-throwing southpaw and former Cub Aroldis Chapman shut the door, striking out the side in order to earn his 24th save of the year and ending the Cubs winning streak.

Despite the loss the Cubs sit atop the NL Central division by a comfortable 8.0 games as they return home to face the second place Milwaukee Brewers in a four-game series. Tyler Chatwood (5-2, 4.66) will make the start for the Cubs while Brett Anderson (2-5, 5.67) will be on the bump for the Brewers.

The Cubs have not lost two consecutive games since they dropped a pair to the Cincinnati Reds back on June 4-5.

I hear you man but nothing in this game this year comes easy. I am struggling this year with pitching and it is starting to get ridiculous to where it isnt fun anymore. Then i find myself playing another game later the same day. I looked through the other teams rosters on the 98 rosters and there are some great players from back in the day that I absolutely forgot about. I cant see winning a bunch with any team at this point. Im just trying to string a few wins together to get out of the basement. Sometimes it feels like my game just goes crazy. All of a sudden my pitches start missing right over the plate when before i was able to hit my spots and make perfect pitches. When ever i score the cpu always scores the next inning or at least 90% of the time. I never get 1,2 3 innings either. I get the first two outs and the all hell breaks loose and i give up a few runs. Lastly it always seems that when I get a batter to 2 strikes I aim way out of the zone but the pitch goes right in the happy zone . Losing my patience but still plugging away

I was having the same problems pitching as well. But then I discovered that I might have been releasing the left location stick a bit early which was resulting in most of my pitches ending up right down the middle of the plate. I am very conscious now of holding the left stick longer. Whether or not it is just a coincidence I am pitching much better with just that little adjustment

Huummm. I will make a conscious effort to do that also. Thank you for the tip! Also, I wonder if it is my controller just being older. I have 2 but it happens with both.

I think it would be cool to see what our records end up. I am playing every pitch every inning for the record.

So far we have not dominated anyone lol. But I am sure that will change. But the Orioles in 1998 are far better than 2020!!!! LOL!

I play every pitch as well. I’ll set mine up and go through my 3 franchises playing a series at a time between my Reds, current Yankees and 1998. I’m assuming sliders stay the same for the 1998 version?

And did you sim to the start of the regular season and just let the cpu handle lineups and rotations? That’s what I did. Simmed opening day and the Cubs already lost Kerry Wood for 1-2 months with a broken hand! Can’t wait to get started!!
