I made the switch to human and CPU power at 4 for the start of June in my franchise and now I'm having more fun than ever playing this game!

I played a few games with power at 4 for both and the change has been so good that I’m starting my Reds and Yankees franchises over and will be using it for my 1998 Yankees franchise as well.

It now feels like I earn my homers instead of feeling like I’m in a home run derby most games! Can’t wait to get started (again)

Went back to my Yankees franchise after playing 31 games in my Mets franchise and experiencing all kinds of pitching issues. Jordan Montgomery goes 7 innings giving up 2 runs and 5 hits. He’s rated 79 but Degrom is 99 and Syndergard is in the high 80’s and their ERA is over 7 . Don’t get it but the pitching issues I am seeing In one franchise I just don’t see with the Yanks. Montgomery’s ERA is 3.49 and the team ERA is 3.23 while the Mets is 6 plus. Can’t explain it

I am seriously considering giving up on pitching and just quick managing when on defense.

Pitching in this game is so unbelievably frustrating with the CPU turning on god mode with 2 strikes again this year. Not realistic in the slightest.

And the umpires don’t help either. I may institute robo umps because the strike zone has been so inconsistent it is crazy.

If a ball low and away is a strike for the CPU then I should get the same call when I am pitching but that just isn’t the case this year. There are 2 different strike zones in play.

It is really taking all of the fun out of an otherwise amazing game.

Ok, I saw the same thing. Following the Catcher on every pitch and saw this, so I had to adjust. Now I follow the computer until I hit two strikes, then I look at what I have thrown and location where it went.

For ex...the catcher will call slider away, strike one. Slider away again, ok, strike two...now the catcher will say slider away or something off speed...well you just went twice outside with something off speed. Now I am going to go in high and tight.

Another ex...2 fastballs in a row inside, catcher calls for something outside, I am going back inside...

You have to change things up from the catcher if not you going to get torched...

I won in the bottom of the 14th last night. Man on 3rd, 1 out, batter hits a fly ball to CF and raises his fist in celebration right after he makes contact, the CF catches the ball runner tags up throw to the plate not in time, game over. Team celebrates, crowd goes crazy.

What are you guys' approaches to hitting the high velo (97+) fastball?

I have a hard time being able to recognize location and get and time the swing.. even when I try to let the ball travel and go the other way with it im usually too late. The only times typically I am good timing or just early is when see its a fastball and just guess location. Which you might imagine leads to a lot of ugly hacks.

HUM/CPU Power to 4
HUM CONTROL to 6
CPU Manager Hook to 4 (click back to 5 once CPU goes to the bullpen)

I think this is a great opportunity to experience a real simulation for what it's really like to face this type of velocity. Another element is every hitter is an extension of your skills, so each hitter is implementing the same approach.

I think you're on the right path looking for a location; then if you get to 2 strikes, go to the square button and protect. A pitcher that throws that hard and has good stuff should require that type of strategy.

Too many meatballs on the human side on HOF. CPU side is fine with the consistency move we made over a month ago....but human side needed one more tweak and this is it.

Remember these are my personel settings.....may not work for everyone.
