I dont want it to ruin my franchsie but its frustrating becasue the pitches im throwing are nowhere near where i aim them and im getting crushed becase of it.

First of all what team are you using? That would make a difference since classic is based around stats and ratings.

Also, are you familiar with how classic works? I’m assuming you are but I’m not sure, if you tap the button you’re going to get shelled, if you hold the button till you feel a small vibration you’ll have no control. You want to find a middle ground between that.

As far as using meter, these would not work with user control at 6. You’d be painting corners all day. It becomes very easy to use meter and “master” the technique of getting perfect releases every time. That’s why I’ve always used classic, I love how ratings matter. Example: with Dylan Bundy I have pretty good control. He usually pounds the strike zone for me. Flip side, I walk about one per inning with Ohtani it seems, and if you think about it that’s pretty accurate with real life.

I wish I could help you more with meter if you absolutely don’t want to use classic, but I don’t use meter so it’s hard for me to give advice on it.

I am not a fan of classic pitching either, so I use pulse which is the next best thing as it is predominantly ratings driven.

Classic pitching is 100% ratings driven.

You pretty much aim and throw. The players ratings take over after that. If you're pitching with a below average dude and just pounding the strike zone, you'll get destroyed. You gotta pitch.

Gonna give these a shot. I've used classic pitching previously. Everything depends on how long you hold the button. Are you guys going with holding it 3/4 of the way on most pitches? Are you ever just tapping it and do you ever mash it all the way down?

If I'm not mistaken, you mix it up. A light tap gives you better control, a harder push gives you higher velocity and less control. Player ratings will decide how often each pitch is "successful". I tend to use a control pitch (light tap) most of the time. Sometimes it depends on what the specific pitcher does well.

As jcar said, I switch it up. 90% of the time i hold it till right before the vibration. If I’m 3-0 something I’ll give it just a tap. If I’m 0-2 trying to blow a fastball high out of the zone I’ll give it max effort.

I have a Marlins franchise rolling. I usually have a problem feeling connected to any team that’s not the cleveland Indians, but for whatever reason I’m really loving this Marlins team.

I’m loving this game, loving this set and I’m having an absolute blast. We have been locked into these for awhile now, and unless there’s a patch there will be zero changes for me. You’ll get low scoring games, blowouts for both sides and homerun derbies. I’ve had them all.

Honestly I don’t care if this set is used or not I just hope people can find joy in this game and have fun! I know a lot of people are having a hard time this year, and a lot of other people just stuck to 20.

If you want a cookie cutter set where every single game is 5-3 final score with 7-10 hits a piece.... well then this set isn’t for you.

How does that work? Like if you hold down to use max effort then won't the pitcher release be late and the ball not go near where you aimed? I am always trying for a good release point

If you tap it, it’s way more accurate with less break on breaking balls, if it’s in the zone it’s probably going to be smacked.

If you’re referring to the pitch feedback, I’m absolutely clueless on that. I haven’t used it in literally years. Maybe somebody else can answer as far as pitch feedback with classic pitching.

As far as holding it down with max effort though, yes it’s a lot more erratic but if you have a pitcher with good control you can still hit your spot and be much more likely to get the K

I think max effort means less accuracy but more speed, break etc. It doesn't always mean it won't go where you aim every time but probably more often you'll miss location than if you tap the button.

It also depends on your pitcher's command rating also.
