I am not worried about walks, I am more so referring to the times in which where you place the ball and where the ball goes is such a low percentage. I think even with a 78 control my pitches are only going where specified maybe 40 percent of the time, and I know looking at the 98 OVR pitchers and 93's a lot of them have 60-70 control on their pitches which leads me to believe that you would see the same thing with them which doesn't make sense.

I see what you’re saying. That being said though you’re trying to hit a precise location 60 feet 6 inches away with a baseball. I think a “miss” is considered 6 inches or more away from the intended target.
Here’s something I found “according to Jerry Weinstein in his book “coaching catchers” major league catchers only hit their spot with a fastball about 24% of the time.”
Accurate or not? I don’t know, but honestly if we’re talking MLB average that sounds about right to me.

Hmm and this is why I am asking about it just to make sure I am seeing realistic results.
So we know that generating walks is an issue, have you found any kind of fix to this?
What do you think about raising contact to 6 to have more variation of hits? I have raised mine to 6 and it feels alright but I know nothing about sliders so just curious of what all you have seen tinkering with different things.Comment

Re: Rmiok222/Decent at Best MLB The Show 21 Sliders All Star+/HOF+ Directional/Classi
My issue with walks to this point is rarely being afraid to put the ball in the strike zone against good hitters. Seems like the proper game play should be that I'm trying to paint corners against good hitters which should lead to walks. But to this point its not been that case. Hopefully this latest testing my fix that problem.

I have seen this time after time, I did go from 58 to a 78 control on my RTTS pitcher so I am seeing it a lot less, but I do know that pitchers in the game have 60 control on their breaking pitches which to me means it would do the same thing.
I am not sure if this is just normal, I don't really know what to make of this, but I do feel like it is very difficult for me to get the ball to go near where I want even when I am wasting pitches.Comment

This is kind of something I am looking at to a degree as well because in RTTS I am trying to paint corners but the problem is when I put the ball on a "throw away pitch" to try to get them to swing and miss out of the strike zone my pitch goes into the strike zone anyways forcing them to swing.

Interesting, I mean I have only played RTTS which is why I am trying to figure out if its a RTTS major issue or what, because my pitcher has roughly 76? or something FB control and still misses massively and I am trying to have a fun time but it just hasn't been fun for me when every pitch is super far from the location.Comment

I mean thats alright that is kind of why I am trying to giet franchise feedback because if its not happening in Franchise then it could be something to do with RTTS and then I have to try to figure out what is causing it lolComment

I don’t play RTTS either but if you want to raise consistency up to 6 that would help for what you’re trying to do.

Re: Rmiok222/Decent at Best MLB The Show 21 Sliders All Star+/HOF+ Directional/Classi
I appreciate all the slider work, enjoying them so far. What I'm trying to do is lower the amount of XBHs I'm getting so far. I think it's more of a "me" issue than a slider issue, just probably my skill level. Would taking power down one click help with that or would someone recommend a different slider to tweak? Thanks for your time.Comment

I say you could try power at 4 or timing at 4. I know timing may sound wierd but it will shrink the window of you getting to fully square up the ball, in theory reducing XBH. Not 100% on that, but thats what I'm thinking.

I’d say timing as well [emoji1303]

Just finished up Opening day vs the Dodgers. Lost 7-2.
Dodgers had 14 Hits
Rockies had 4
Buehler : 6 IP, 3 H, 2R, 2ER, 1 BB, 9 SOs, W
Marquez : 6 IP, 8H, 4R, 4ER, 0BB, 4 SOs, L
We had 6 SOs as a team.
Will be streaming game 2 of the series either later today or tomorrow.
Observations: CPU is alot better on HOF+. They didnt chase as much and the mistakes I made leaving balls in the middle of the zone they capitalized on. Both really good signs. I'm really liking what I'm seeing on HOF+.
