Rmiok222 MLBTS22 HOF/HOF+ Directional/Classic Slider Set

Have you tried these sliders with the new TruSim Rosters? I’m not a big equipment guy but the roster makeup and ratings are pretty phenomenal. I just don’t know about the sliders he recommends using with them. I’ve grown comfortable with near default setting (HOF Hitting and HOF+ Pitching). I’m going to play with a few different teams and matchups to get a feel for how they play before starting my Cubs Franchise

I have not tried that roster. I’m using ridin 1.5, the one with equipment edits.

Anybody have any advice on how to use directional hitting? I understand the basics of it but I haven’t been able to use it well enough to make my games realistic. Have been using timing just because it adds 2 or 3 hits a game and makes the user hit total more realistic.

Armor has a detailed “manual” on how he uses directional hitting. Check out page 1 of his slider thread.

I think everyone has different strategies with directional hitting. Here’s mine.

I bet 85% + of the time, I don’t influence my swing at all.

If you understand the game of baseball, applying those principles to MLBTS works.

So much depends on game circumstance.

Need a sac fly press up, need to hit behind a runner then point in that direction, need a ground ball, same…..need to swing for the fences, same…….u get the idea. Who is at the plate also plays a role in if I will try to influence a swing or not.

I strategically deploy direction hitting mechanic ONLY when the game situation warrants it….. it’s not every swing, not even close.

I just press X and it’s worked fine for me all these years. Don’t overthink directional hitting.

Agree, somewhat..I bet I use contact or power swing even less than trying to influence my swing…..probably 2 to 5% of my swings are with anything but X.

Appreciate it! I actually gave directional a fair shot last night and it’s way better than timing.

I actually hit better with timing as well. I don’t get it cause everyone says it’s the same if you don't influence the swing. But then I think…then why did they separate it this year?

From what I have seen... when you use timing, the players' ratings, along with the situation influence the directional contact. I've run both directional and timing this year, and while they are both very similar, I prefer the batter's ratings working in conjunction with my skill to judge the pitch.

Directional: you control timing and direction
Timing: you control timing / batter's ratings and situation determine direction

Is it just me or does HOF have a really weird feel to it? I’ve moved back to All star plus defaults and I’m having fun with the game again. For some reason on HOF it was becoming way too easy to pitch to the cpu.

See that you’ve made some changes today? Just curious but what pitch speeds to do use? Sometimes I feel default just looks too floaty.

I’ve been using 6/6 but I plan on going to 7/7 my next game. 5 is definitely too slow for me but I think that greatly depends on your TV. At home I can run 4K at 120hz..I can use 7/7 pitch speeds and be just fine.

I went to my moms house this weekend (stayed there and drove up to the guardians vs Yankees game) and she has a 1080p 60hz tv and I was actually using 4/4 pitch speeds. The TV makes a massive difference and also the camera you use makes a difference as well.

Sliders are working well though. Royals scored 12 runs against me in 3 games and had about 30 hits. The only significant change I made was putting control up 1 and consistency down 1. Seems like it would almost cancel out but it doesn’t. You’ll throw more punishable mistake pitches that get crushed.

Streaming OP with what I’m using. Yes changes were made. I’m ocd and I like testing so I make changes. This is by far the best set up I’ve ever played with personally. Using with TrueSim rosters, which are absolutely amazing.
