Hey everyone! Hope you guys are all doing great and your franchises are thriving.

I caught a bad case of the Slideritis so I had to take a break from OS lol. I now have made it through roughly 130 games of a season and we are in the hunt for the playoffs. It’s been fun and I hope you guys are all having fun as well

Thanks. We are having fun as well. Slideritis is the worse thing. I found a fictional roster that has all players under 26 years old. The storyline is that it is a new league formed outside of MLB. So I found 30 created stadiums and have all 30 custom teams. It is pretty fun so far. I did a fantasy draft to build the teams. I’m the Nashville Stars and I’m 4-4 so far.

Hey! I ended up essentially using default sliders with a few tweaks to pickoffs, base steal success, pitch speed (personal preference of course). I found that going mostly default eliminated that “oh wow I had 2 or 12 hits, the sliders must be wrong” thing and I just accepted that it may not be super close to real life and went with it.

What I found was that everything looks extremely good extrapolated over 100 games. Hitting may be a little light in user games tbh, I play every single game, every inning and if I do another franchise I will raise at least the cpu hitting a bit.

I’m halfway through September with the Pirates and it’s been an absolute blast. Can’t believe I’m actually going to make a full season in the game lol.

22 was incredibly challenging to "balance offensively". IMO, default was the best way to go, and just had to live with the weak/inconsistent offensive output.

It was so difficult to tell if one click of contact, or power or solid hits etc. would help balance it.

Then of course that turned into fiddling with pitch control/consistency/stamina/field run spd/fld reaction etc.

Next thing you know, full slider-itis kicked in, and I couldn't tell if player ratings even mattered anymore, or if it was just the sliders manipulating the play on the virtual diamind.

At least on 21, raising contact by 1 click was all that was needed to bring the offensive input where it needed to be.

Under the hood, 22 was a s*** show.

Wasn't worth the stress....20 was and still is the GOAT. Plug in Armor's set and never look back. Wish I had told myself that earlier in the year.

I couldn’t agree more Dowie. Which is why I left everything at near default - hitting numbers are a little too low and pitching numbers seem to be a little too good but overall the experience is good. I too had everything on 6 or 7, then lowered timing, then would switch back… I finally had enough and just left it at default with a few exceptions like steal success, etc..

Another little tidbit I’ve noticed, when playing with better teams that do hit well (Angels on Ridin’s original release for example) the difficulty level kicks in big time. Like, I could get 7-10 hits a game with the Angels, they have better pitching than the Pirates do but teams would score wayyy more against me with the better team. Almost like HoF was designed to keep most games competitive, like 22 power guys hitting 2 home runs in a game and other weird stuff.

All in all, I’ve had fun, it’s been competitive and I’ve really had a good time just “letting the games happen”. Hoping next year is a little better.

Sometimes I hate the game being dumb and costing me injuries. I had Ohtani at first base and they threw a pitch out. Well every time they pitch out the runner dives back into first base. Even when there is no throw. Well he got a swollen knee and had to be removed from the game. I just turned the game off. Now I kind of feel like I cheated the game. The way I thought is if he would have got hurt doing something normal I wouldn’t have mind. But he shouldn’t have to dive back to the base for no reason. But then I could say he injured it the play before. Lol

Totally agree man. This was the least played version of the show for me and I wasn’t that big of a fan of 21. The constant 0-0 games going into the sixth inning got some boring.

For anyone using our slider set, I hope you guys are still enjoying it. I am in the middle of a Braves franchise and we are 72-39. Tied with Philadelphia for the division. Playing that game on the Switch. Also going to start a Guardians and Dodgers franchise with 2023 rosters.

I have been getting good games. Here are my scores from the last 10 games. Lots of runs. Would love a 0-0 game lol.

                    11-6
                    0-2
                    5-3
                    7-6
                    6-1
                    7-9
                    8-5
                    6-12
                    9-0

This is a simple one for me, if I ever get injured on a pick off/ throw over move.. I remove the injury after the game (I use 30 team control).

I’ll accept the injury for that individual game (could be as simple as me thinking players jam fingers/ wrists and are removed out of precaution) but I’ve had a TORN MCL on a gentle throw over to 1st base.. I can’t accept that.

I know Armor had a big star go out and he played it as he got injured in a previous play. Which I can accept that. But yeah, that is stupid. I wish we had more decisions on injuries. More of a risk/reward thing.

I have injuries pretty high (I think 7 or 8) so I had plenty of injuries occurring normally, I didn’t need the ones after the pitcher tried 5x over to first base and finally my player breaks his foot lol.
