I have had a manage pull a starter after 1 and 3rd of a inning giving up 7 hits and 5 runs.

but Yesterday Mize for Detroit gives up 6 runs in the 2nd innings. the CPU left him in the game till the 4th innings. and the pitch count was normal. not low or high.

Just feels so random. I am wondering what triggers a early hook. you would think runs or maybe it is getting hit around.

anyhow played a awesome game beating the Padres 3-1 it was 1-1 into the 8th both teams struggle to hit anything Padres had just hit back to get it to 1-1 costing Webb the Win after 7 shutout innings. then I pinch hit with De Stella and hit a go ahead 2 run home and Mcgee closes it for a 3-1 win!

when i have games like that it reminds me that All Star Difficulty is just fine. I can still have games like that and still have the blow out offence games as well.

one of the issues with 21 was no matter what you did you could balance it out to where every game felt different it was either every game felt like a 3-1 game or if you change something it was offence crazy.

This game is just playing so well. that I don't want to sleep and keep playing games lol day 2 is complete on the calendar and I have played every single game so far on the calendar. and still am in no way ready to start simming or using quick counts. that is how much I am enjoying it.
That is awesome! I’m glad you are enjoying these. I’m not sure what it is about manager hook. I guess it could be a manager rating under the hood. Or maybe the bullpen was used more the day before? Maybe one manager lets him try to right the ship?

speaking of the BP energy a feature i wish we had was that in the rotation screen I wish it showed current stamina. right now we can only see that in the BP during a game. it would be good to know and babysit the CPU BP if a closer had been used 3 straight days to make some changes BEFORE the game and move someone else to the closer slot.

The yankees rule for example of not using Chapman on more then 2 straight days you could manipulate the BP and move him to LR and someone else to closer spot. I have found the CPU will go for the closer spot not the CP spot for the 9th making that CP position 100% useless and pointless. there is no point having it just have everyone as a RP I am tempted just to make that change myself.

I have done testing with this recently putting a CP in the SU rule and someone else at CP. and yep the CPU goes for whoever is in the CP slot not for the position CP or the pitcher. so I have no idea why they keep bothering with CP options.

It might possible be just there for the All Star voting screen.

        Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

They changed the logic maybe 2020 but for sure last year's game the cpu doesn't use a RP a certain amount of days straight. It's not perfect but it's pretty solid overall. Last year the BP logic was by far the best ever. This year seems to be about the same beside the fact they seem to have tweak the trigger a bit of when a SP gets pulled if he's given up a bunch if runs early.

Did you set up the cpu bullpen like what is posted on OP from (can't remember his name) who gave us what he does. It works really really well. The cpu will use guys with more stamina for sure. Just make sure to put hook up to 10 once they go to the bullpen.

I did test a bunch of sim games with nobody in the CP spot. Seems like between 2-3 pitchers would split the saves.

But I don’t know what determines who the AI chooses to put in the 9th inning.

Lol man Y2Y saves have to be in next years installment of this game!!!

There is no way I will leave this Pirates franchise sitting idle. Lol it is possible this rebuild could take me 3+ seasons to have it done. When I say the current state of the team is bad, I mean it is BAD!!! Currently sitting at 2-14!!!

I’m not complaining though. I think I’m having the most fun I have ever had with this horrific Pirates team. My mind is constantly turning thinking about what I’m going to need to do in the future to try and turn this thing around.

I currently do have 2 players that know for certain have to be my building block, need to work and get some young guys in to help them out. Those 2 players are O’Neil Cruz and Matt Frazier who I have just recently added to my 40 man roster, and pulled up to the majors from AA Altoona. He is paying off immediately.

I did make a trade sending Bryan Reynolds to the Yankees for a A potential 73 rated starting pitcher that is now in my rotation, but has yet to throw a game for me, and a A potential CF 63 rated prospect. He is in AA Altoona seasoning. I can’t remember the dang names of them. Old age is horrible!!! I will look after work and post the names.

I apologize for the mile long write up lol!!!

I think Y2Y saves will come back at some point. I think the transition to Xbox and all really messed that up. I could be wrong though and they'll never do y2y again unfortunately.

I was thinking the same thing you were. I want to do a Pirates franchise but I don’t know how long I can play it with my Mariners franchise. I won’t be able to play it for 3-4 seasons to make it worth it lol

This is why I am glad my favorite team is the Mets. They have
older players so they are built to win now so I can focus on that. I don't even really need to make any trades anywhere except for maybe a better closer.

Even with that year to year saves would be excellent.

I have updated the OP to reflect our updated sliders. I think we are very close to locking these in and making them official.

Things that have changed are below.

Solid hits for both raised to 5.
                    Baserunner speed raised to 2.
IF Arm Strength raised to 1.

We are seeing doubles being doubles instead of them getting thrown out at 2nd. We are seeing fast runners score from 1st on a double.

I have also put in Dowies wind slider method if you are interested for the 5th inning.

                    Enjoy folks.

Newest thing we're testing is fielder speed up to 1 from 0. A few times last series if the runner was fast those should be doubles would have turned into triples cause the OF was a bit too slow getting to the ball in the gap.

We are so so close to locking these all in. The game is playing great! Just some nitpicking things at this point we are addressing.

Just bumped my fielder speed up. Got company at moment so can’t focus well enough to get into the spread sheet. When they leave I will be starting that.

I keep forgetting he was traded and meant to do it yesterday within my season. Just made the trade. Already played vs the Tigers so I avoided playing vs Meadows this time around. Oh well. Thanks for the reminder. Normally I never follow real life transactions but since I am so early on and it's kind of a big name trade I will.

Normally I never follow real life transactions but since I am so early on and it's kind of a big name trade I will.

I agree I don't keep up but like a solid/accurate roster to start. I even enter long term injuries.....only cause I don't want a team to have a surplus and make a useless trade....after that though I let my own universe breathe
