    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic/Quick Counts MLB 22 Sliders

Been playing test games here and the game feels so much different than 21 it's crazy. Currently I am comfortable saying HOF pitching will be a lock for me. Hitting however is just different. Hitting is and always will be based on user skill and how consistent you are with patience with your plate approach.

We all go through phases of being very patient and able to read pitches. Ourselves we actually get into this hot streak for hitting like real life players do. Then we go into phases where we are striking out 12+ times a game and rushing everything. So hitting difficulty is always subjective imo whereas pitching is not so much.

I am almost to the point now for hitting that I feel because it's so subjective that dynamic difficulty is the best option. Hitting afterall is dynamic itself with hot and cold streaks from your players through a long season. And ourselves as the user with our own phases as mentioned above.

I remember last year I used dynamic difficulty for hitting for the longest during my Padres franchise and it always felt great. So personally, I think I'm just going to go that route again with my Mariners franchise. Slider sensitivity I'll put down to 6 so it doesn't move so quickly but at the same time won't allow me to stay in one of my own phases for longer than I should be.

Hitting is all about confidence in the game just as in real life. If you go into a game lacking confidence you're going to start swinging at everything and before you know it you're averaging 15k per game.

Just wanted to give my thoughts on this here. For now I'm going to continue test games and see where that gets me. But HOF pitching/dynamic hitting is most likely the route I will go with personally and stick with an entire season.

As far as sliders go, where they're at now feels right. Currently I am semi worried about lack of errors but I need to play at least 20 more games before making a final judgment on that.

      Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

I just can’t get over how great 22 is. I know 21 was a disappointment for a lot of people. Steve and I still enjoyed it. I never thought that I would help him create a slider set. I was always just a follower of Josh and Armor. I liked having the visuals when pitching and we just couldn’t enjoy the game on Allstar or HOF pitching cause it was too easy and got boring. I am glad that something has been fixed to where we can now pitch on HOF.

The presentation in 22 is phenomenal. When I’m not playing, I am itching to play.

I know we are one of the only slider sets that are designed for quick counts and visuals on. These sliders did work for non quick counts and visuals off last year as well. But we like those features with our busy lives we can get more games in.

I hope everyone enjoys these sliders if you decide to try them. We love hearing feedback and updates on your own franchises. And having a nice conversation on here.

Let us know if you have any questions.

        Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

I agree with Steve about the hitting can be so dynamic between users. And going through these slumps and hit streaks. I have played about 20 games so far. I know it isn’t much of a sample size yet but we are heading in the right direction.

Once you get settled, you could change the dynamic to 3-6. It will take a few games to move the needle enough to move up or down a level with that setting.

Here are my numbers so far and breakdown. Like we said, we shoot for hit variety and stats. My wife teases me when I enter my stats in my spreadsheet after every game. But for me, that is fun. We try to make the hit variety be what you see IRL. I hate getting just all singles or home runs.

        Allstar / Allstar + / HOF
        Avg: .333 / .211 / .211
        BABIP: .357 / .234 / .280
        Singles (65% goal): 65% / 68% / 62%
        Doubles (20% goal): 16% / 11% / 19%
        Home Runs (13% goal): 20% / 21% / 15%

My numbers look better on HOF. My HR numbers were kind of spiked by a Yankees random game. Lol

          Spring Training game on 21

          R H E
          Mets 3 9 0
          Giants 4 7 1

Giants take lead 4-1 after 3 run blast from Lamont Wade in the 4th.
I chip away at the lead to make it 4-3. McCann strikes out in the 9th with the tying run on 2nd to end the game.

I pulled two wild cards: Ace of Spades +1 CPU contact Ace of Hearts +1 CPU power.

The wild cards definitely influenced the game. Wades blast just snuck over the right center field wall which was at 370.

Incredible game play even on 21. I cant wait until Tuesday until to play 22. It is already downloaded on my console I just cant play it yet.

Those numbers look great. You did pretty good holding them with those raised numbers.

You seeing a lot of singles? That is what we are trying to hone in on.

Out of my 9 hits 1 was a HR, 3 were doubles and the remaining 5 were singles.

I am seeing a lot of well hit line drives from me and the CPU also.

Yeah we are seeing that as well. We are considering lowering power to 3 to help but we don’t want to nerf the offense too much or give them less homeruns. Just need some of those doubles into singles.

A handful didn't like 21, but many of us loved the gameplay. Our final slider set last season gave me the best variety of games I've ever had for MLBTS since I started playing in 2012. These are not near finalized for 2022 but certain slider settings are carrying over smoothly from 21 which makes things easier.

You're going to be blown away by the gameplay Tuesday if you're enjoying 2021.

For me its the outfield/infield throwing adjustments combined with the baserunning speed lowered that bring the gameplay in line. No more CPU flying around the bases on regular hit balls to the OF. The games are fluid and keep you guessing everytime the ball is put into play. A lot of well hit balls for outs which is how it should be.

My anticipation for 22 is building.

Yes you are 100% correct about the baserunning. Our settings look crazy but they work perfectly and create extremely realistic baserunning and goes a long way influencing hit variety. Singles are singles and doubles are doubles. Not thrown out by a mile at 2nd or 3rd. It created more jams to have to pitch out of with runners on base. Way more of an immersive feeling withing the game.

Once we figure out how to create more singles for 2022 we will be right back to that again as we were last year. Creating more singles is probably the hardest thing to do with sliders. But once you get those at the 60-65% mark of all hits then everything else kind of pieces together easily.

Big patch came out today. Nice to see them fix stuff so soon. And we get some more uniforms too!

SDS fixed a lot of stuff and even before release. Then you get the people in Gen Pop complaining that they shouldn’t have to fix all that stuff. They complain they don’t fix it and complain when they do.

Just wanted to let everyone know that our thread will be a safe place as well. Just like Armor’s thread.

hmm so a 8-1 win for Tor against Baltimore and 5-2 Brewers V DBacks. Corbin Burns was off too but D backs couldn't get it together

one thing I have noticed so far MOST runs are coming from Homers. it seems power is much more this year. 21 was a mess but this is playing so much better with variety.

We are testing power at 3 and solid hits at 5 for both user and cpu now. Early indications are very good.

Also testing fielder speed and reaction both at 0 to try and produce more singles. The OF really charge the ball this year so some of the bloop singles are missing this year. Really like what I saw for the first game with those fielder settings.

                            Cardinals 7 10 0 (2 HR, 8 singles)
                            Cubs 3 4 1 (1 HR, 3 singles)

I was the Cubs here. So the homeruns are still there with lowered power. Raised solid hits back to default to compensate lower power. More than welcome to play some games with these test sliders if you want.

We both have locked into HOF pitching currently. It feels really good this year.

I just started a test franchise with the Cardinals. I might keep playing with it along with the Mariners franchise but we will see. We are 1-1 so far. Had a really nice game for the 2nd one. The Cardinals lost 5-4 but it was a nice close game.

                              STL 4 8 0 - 2 HR, 1 2B, 5 BB, 8 K
                              PIT 5 10 0 - 1 HR, 2 2B, 3 BB, 5 K

I have HOF for pitching locked and batting AS+.

                                Things that changed:

Human/CPU Solid Hits raised to 5.
