    Re: S & B's Directional/Classic MLB 22 Sliders

    Game 4
    Civale vs Sampson

The Cubs got off to a good start when Gonzalez and Reynolds started the game with back-to-back singles before Naylor had an RBI single to score Gonzalez followed by a Gimenez double to score Reynolds. Sampson settled down and kept the Guardians hot offense in check going 6 innings giving up 6 hits and 2 runs with 3 K's. Civale did a good job but had a high pitch count but he went 5 innings giving up 4 hits and no runs with 3 K's. The 2-0 score would hold until the 8th inning when Reynolds and Ramirez hit back-to-back home runs to make it a 4-0 game. That would be big insurance because Clase who pitched all 4 games in this series but with no saves struggled in the 9th inning. Swanson started with a ground-rule double before getting Bellinger to strike out and Velazquez to ground out. One out away from the World Series. Hosmer tripled down the right field line scoring Swanson to make it a 4-1 game. Wisdom followed with a walk and all of a sudden the Cubs had the tying run at the plate with Gomes coming up. He hit a single to right scoring Hosmer and Wisdom to make the game 4-3. Cubs had the tying run at 1st and winning run at the plate with Morel coming up. But Clase settled down and struck him out. Guardians won their 3rd championship!

Jose Ramirez won the Playoff MVP and World Series MVP award. He hit .396 with 10 HR and 20 RBI in the playoffs. He went 9 for 17 (.529) 4 HR and 9 RBI in the World Series.

That will wrap it up for me with the MLB 22 game. She was a good game and I had a blast playing it. Here is to 23.

For the card modifier, do we use both tables? For instance if I pull the 9 of diamonds am I bumping up HUMAN consistence +2?

You can pick one table to use. One is the original one and the we made a new one that is less dramatic and doesn’t change the hitting sliders.

            Sorry for the confusion.

Ah that makes more sense, thanks!

And what is the 2X Next Card? Is that if I want to draw a fourth?

The 2x Next Card is if you double the value of the next card. So if you draw a +1 power it will be +2 power.

I was telling Steve that I would $70 for them to update 22 with the new rules and playoffs and play that.

IMO, 23 is a full punt job. So many of us have tried everything under the sun and nothing has worked.

I'm sorry, but if you have to max out a slider, then something is wrong AND it is taking away from the ratings having any effect.

Went home to roost on MLBTS20 and prob staying there forever.

In that "Too many strikeouts" thread, someone said Legend with pinpoint with contact, timing, and solid hits at 10 works. But that is totally crazy. That should not be acceptable.

                          Agree 100%

The only way I was able to consistently get strikeouts down and cpu offense up was the following:

All Star, default sliders, max pitch speeds, FULL clean screen, classic/directional, auto field, auto throw (ugh, the blue circle), AND have the catcher call the entire game for me.

Basically one step below just watching a game. It wasn't very fun and def not sustainable.

That was the point I realized (at least for me), that I am too old to be fighting video games, and it's OK to stick with 20 if that gives me the gameplay I am looking for.

Currently running an every pitch/every game franchise with the 85 Tigers and an every pitch/every game chise with the 98 Cardinals and I couldn't be HAPPIER. (using Armor's 20 sliders).

I just don't understand how the clean screen will help with strikeouts. I can throw it down the middle and they swing and miss. And wouldn't you start to get a feel of where to put the marker over time? Just like over time, you get the feel of meter pitching? I could be wrong. That is the one thing I have only tried like maybe a few innings but I still had the strikeouts. I always have let the catcher call the game. I actually thought maybe that was the culprit.

That was just my personal experience. Not having the ball marker isn't easy to get used to IMO (especially if you use broadcast view when pitching).

To me, it lends itself to your pitcher throwing a lot of mistake pitches over the heart of the plate or overcompensating the stick and walking a lot of batters.

Having the cpu catcher call the game stopped me from throwing the slider for a swing/miss almost at will.

Let's face it....23's hitting engine isn't ideal. The cpu behaves very poorly.

Game is incredible with those setting, honestly it’s not as crazy as it sounds!
