I had infield throwing/fielding errors maxed, and OF throwing at 8, and OF fielding at 6. Felt that gave me the best realistic results for the roster I was using. I thought HPB, WP and PB were all realistic. I do look for realistic gameplay and results where I know some people get irritated with things like errors and WP’s. Also, keep in mind, this was for MLB 20, not 23.

Did you have Fielding reaction and speed default?

I wont use anyone's rosters. No matter how they say they don't mess with ratings, they do. Especially for their favorite team. So to be safe, I don't mess with them. I only use default ootb or I pick a live update (usually end of April one) and off I go.

I really don’t think pitch count is that big of a deal. Instead of 15 pitched an inning for an average it’s 21 now because there are 6 quick default pitches. Just gotta think 136ish is the new 100

What I wonder about is the “hit first pitch” players and I would think bunting takes a hit with a smaller count.

I’ll start using these sliders as the one I had from a NON MOM slider group totally blow with 15 Ks a game.

I asked in another thread about backward sliders, glad there are not any like a Madden

Full disclosure, I am not set on these sliders yet. Using them as a starting point. I havent found anything I am comfortable with. Its been a busy April so I havent been able to test like in the past. I plan in May to really deep dive into it.

Im on PS5. Yes, you should be able to go to settings and switch hitting and pitching to All-Star. On all default I was seeing good scoring and good BA's and SO/BB ratios. Really good gameplay IMO. Like I said, I will start deep diving into it now that I have some time to. Any input would be great also.

I have been playing Mom for a while now (I am in May for my franchise). I use quick counts and notice there is so many low averages and high strikeout numbers. Is there a way to fix this?

I dont use Quick count and have never tested it. You can try to tone down the pitching and/or raise batting.

I'll see what the difference is between AS and Hall of Fame? today. I had that same issue. but was on Hall of Fame setting. I have 2 sets of sliders and going back and forth to see what is better and what I can tweak. Not much difference actually the default and some pretty radical sliders I'm using. I had some pretty heavy slider settings for hitting with basically zero differences so far but not an exhausted test yet.

I'm on a PS4 - the SIM'd games have wonderful stats but those games are really "played". The watched games are a different engine so its harder to tweak.

I do wonder how much longer a game takes NOT using quick pitch it would be another 140 pitches to click on.

An average game for me on broadcast watching everything is about an hour and a half to hour and 40 min. Not hitting any buttons (letting the 4 sec clock run) other then if I want to do H&R, bunt, steal or warm up pitcher or something like that.

If I remember correctly, sliders for watched (or maybe its just simmed) games have no effect except for stamina, wind and injuries. I dont know if that has changed.

It SORT of seems that way just from antidotal evidence. Seems weird though. Looking forward to the next game though to see ALL-Star.

Ive always tested and played on AS. I heard way back (from nomo I think) that the game is programmed at All-Star level. Therefore I never deviated from that. Its sounding like from other posts Ive read, that it seems correct.

Just played (watched) a game on AS with the OP settings - pretty much the same as other settings. It's only 1 game but for both teams 5 runs 12 hits and 26 Ks which is the norm at the moment.

HOWEVER -entertaining so It's not a complaint at all which is the point. I have Strat-o-matic for accuracy LOL

If I find some tweaks that do anything I'll post. Glad there are MOM players out there besides me.

Yes. IMO I think CPU vs CPU plays different then Manage Mode. I play Manage mode and not cvc. I tried a older set from back in Nomo days (from 18) and while the set was nice, it just didnt play right for my likings. Nomos sets were always based on cvc games and not MoM. Starting pitchers were monsters and was 0-0 games till relievers came in and then it was total downhill. Im sure most of it has to do with the changes between MLBTS 18 and MLBTS 23.

Ive seen this strat-o-matic term bounced around alot. Is it a particular roster? Particular setup? What is it?
