Ive seen this strat-o-matic term bounced around alot. Is it a particular roster? Particular setup? What is it?

A dice game/card - it's in the Hall of Fame - statistically pretty accurate. I've been in leagues for almost 50 years LOL It was the first baseball game to have pitchers cards and not just batter.

Yes. IMO I think CPU vs CPU plays different then Manage Mode. I play Manage mode and not cvc. I tried a older set from back in Nomo days (from 18) and while the set was nice, it just didnt play right for my likings. Nomos sets were always based on cvc games and not MoM. Starting pitchers were monsters and was 0-0 games till relievers came in and then it was total downhill. Im sure most of it has to do with the changes between MLBTS 18 and MLBTS 23.

Yea - CvC seems different for sure. Much more offense and real. I have not seen any 25K games

Oh ok. Ya, I dont get into those things. MoM is finicky as it is. If you constantly make changes, it effects gameplay.

I hate the programming logic and I like to have some in game management. Madden I can deal with CvC, baseball would just infuriate me

I'm CvCing through the Exhibition season. I wonder once I get into the regular season and start MoMing how much of a difference in the stats will be.

Seems pretty normal so far. MoMing is the goal but I have had such horrendous stats for "my" teams in the past if I see a huge drop off I'll know it's not just me and bad luck LOL

I'm not seeing a difference in CvC and MoM in relation to gameplay. In MoM I manage the Royals and we are 5-8 thru 13 games hitting .249 and ERA 4.63. I am getting very realistic numbers. I wonder if the patch that tweaked pitching is making it harder for the CPU to produce offense? I did not install it

I've decided I'm done fooling around. I'm leaving everything default except Power, Wind, injuries, and Trades.

I'm going to make this my franchise and from here, I'll decide after Spring if that's the route I will go with any changes. I want to get games in this year, not play "find the slider"

PS5, single team (Guardians) control, 4/21 Live roster (put injured guys back on 40 man and took off lowest rated), starting in Spring.

Playing good. Good hits, good pitching. Starting off well. Hits are good, but could use a little more umph. Not sure I want to put Power back to 5 or move fielding to 4/4. Im only 5 games in. No changes yet. It is really playing well. Getting game totals around 6BB, 14SO, 17H, 6R. Will get a good 20 games in before I decide on any changes.

Awesome post! I love Managing games on franchise. I had an amazing set for 21’ and 22’ so I’ll apply it to this one. I always aimed for real stats and spent like a whole month night and day running different sliders to see how they played out (I wanna say 150+ games) lol. I’ll let you know if it plays smoothly on this series.

Must be a difference between PS5 and PS4 I'm averaging 34Ks a game for both teams after 8 games with a 5 runs total and 10Hits for both teams. I can't use these sliders in PS4.

I do have different sliders I'm using which are more closer to realism. Thanks anyway.

Try here. Nomo had a great google spreadsheet for cpu vs cpu. Its from MLBTS18. Maybe it will get you in the right direction. I recommend the 4/20 or 4/21 set. Tabs at the bottom of spreadsheet. Hopefully it helps get you where you want or in that direction.

I have a good set of sliders - still a lot of Ks but not a crazy amount. I was just surprised at the difference between yours on a PS5 and me using the same on a PS4.

A lot depends on the roster u use.

Fidelity for instance toned down the vision rating for a lot of players. This increases ks a lot . I use Bobby Witt in my cpu vs cpu franchise and his vision rating was 20 points lower in the Fidelity roster. He struck out a ton. 1.3 ks a game. With the default rosters he strikes out 0.86 after 45 games.

Changing attributes by a large amount changes gameplay significantly.
