        That is the latest. But we have been testing this below.

          I thought extreme shifts were out in this game (MLBTS23)?

          Is there a NEW setting I am missing to turn that off?

            Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders

            I am having so much fun right now.
            I changed some of the sliders, Batting is a bit changed from V1, fielding and pitching is towards V2 and it feels perfect. Games are incredibly hard, I have to earn every out, SP are at the 80 pitch mark in the 5th inning very often, something I have never had before. SO rate between 5-10, nice veriety of grounders, double plays and pop ups. I see several homers from both sides, something that was always missing before. I never feel safe in a game, everything can happen.

            I can post my sliders if you wish, but I don´t want to mess up the thread for now.

            Last three games:
            ATL (P) 6 11 0
            SD (CPU) 3 6 0
            ATL had 2 HR, 1 (2b), 9 SO
            SD had 2 HR, 1 (2b), 10 SO

            ATL (P) 3 (6) 0
            KC (CPU) 5 (7) 0
            ATL had 2 (2b), 8 SO
            KC had 2 HR, 7 SO
            ATL led by 3 in the 8th, where my RP´s got destroyed.

            COL (CPU) 3 10 1
            SF (P) 4 11 0
            COL had 1 (3B), 2 (2B), 8 SO
            SF had 1 HR, 4 (2B), 5 SO

                No, there shouldn’t be an option to turn that rule off. I don’t think we have a choice. I’ll see the outfielders extreme shift but I’ll always see the infielders following the new rules. What are you seeing?

                  I just double checked to see if it might be a choice when you start a new franchise. But it is the same as last year where it only gives you the choice of DH and the extra runner.

                    Sure. Here are my changes, maybe some of you want to try it.
                    I am good at pitching, but always have problems with hitting. Consider this, when using them.

                    User

                    (Numbers in parentheses reflects the latest change)

                    Contact: 5 (-1) -_> 6
                    Power: 5 (+1) --> 5
                    Timing: 0 --> 2 (needed to raise it, as I am playing with higher pitching speed, so the deciding window is already very small, however, you can lower that.
                    Foul Frequency: 5
                    Solid Hits: 5 (+2) --> 3
                    SP Stamina w/o quick counts: 7
                    RP Stamina: 7
                    Pitcher Control: 2 --> 4
                    Pitcher Consistency: 2 --> 4 (As for the CPU I have seen way too many weird pitches, wild pitches, HBP, walks. It still isn´t easy and you will get crushed by the CPU if you give them easy pitches into the strike zone. Especially in the 4/5 inning, CPU will recognize your pitches more.

                    CPU

                    Contact: 10 (+2) --> 8
                    Power: 4 (-1) --> 7
                    Timing: 10 (+3) --> 8 with these, they are hitting hard, grounders can turn into singles, line drives into doubles or triples and any easy pitch will lead to HRs. Much less hits to the fence.
                    Foul Frequency: 5
                    Solid Hits: 0 (-3) --> 2
                    Control: 6 (+1) --> 5
                    Consistency: 10 (+3) --> 8 same as in V2, you will get less wide balls, pitches are mostly around the strike zone and with the high pitching speed, you almost can´t tell if FB or BB
                    Strike Frequency: 5
                    Starter Stamina w/o quick counts: 8 (2 for simmed games)
                    Reliever Stamina: 7 (5 for simmer games)
                    Pickoffs: 0
                    CPU Manager Hook: 3 (-2) until SP is removed. 10 for bullpen. 7 for simulated games. This gives realistic complete game numbers across the league.
                    CPU Pickoffs: 0
                    Pitch Speed: 9 --> IMO very important, as the pitching speed is way to slow. You can get used to it very fast, and it looks like on TV

                    Fielding/Baserunning Sliders --> so V2 was really important for these sliders, because the fielding got better and it helps with the very good CPU offense. Seeing nice results with OP, no changes here.

                    Infield Errors: 5
                    Outfield Errors: 5
                    Throwing Errors Infield: 10 (+2)
                    Throwing Errors Outfield: 0
                    Fielder Run Speed: 5 (+3)
                    Fielder Reaction: 5
                    Arm Strength IF: 2 - This lets you still beat out infield singles and controls the double plays. You will still see higher rated infielders make good throws.
                    Arm Strenght OF: 5 (+1)
                    Baserunner Speed: 3 - Doubles and triples will still happen. You will still beat out an infield hit since the IF Arm Strength is lower. This solves the soft hits to CF where the batter tries to stretch a single into a double and get thrown out by a mile.
                    Steal Ability: 8
                    Steal Frequency: 4
                    Wind: See below
                    Game Played Injury Frequency: 10
                    Simulation Injury Frequency: 6
                    Simulated AA/AAA Injury Frequency: 0-2

                    Maybe you just have to change offense or defense, depending on where you see problems. Like I said, big hit variety, very difficult for pitching, mistakes will get punished and you never feel safe on the mount. However, I also had a good game with Ohtani, only allowing 2 hits in 7 (so CPU is not overpowered), until the RP lost the game as in reality.

                      Coors Field is brutal with our sliders. LOL

                      We are still working on our hitting sliders. I was using this setup for the game.

                      CPU: 9/6/10/5/0
                      User: 7/6/0/0/4

                      STL 4 14 1 (1 HR, 1 triple, 4 doubles)
                      COL 8 19 1 (1 HR, 6 doubles)

                      Only 1 HR from each team out of 33 hits in Colorado. I'm debating if I like CPU Consistency at 8 better than 10. But I do like how I hardly get HBP now. But it was still better at 8 than at default.

                            I haven't. Other than the strikeouts, the game is great. SDS went and fixed stuff that didn't need fixed. The presentation package and fielding animations would make it hard to go back to 22. Then you have the new schedules, playoff format, and new rules would make it even harder. Even though 22 was still a great game.

                              No way I could go back and play a season with the old schedule system now. Much more enjoyable to play everyone. New playoffs, the new scouting and draft. It's hard for me to understand why someone would skip 2023 lol

                                Ya. This. It has some quirks but as a franchise only player (this cycle anyway) it’s been pretty darn good out of the box.
