Has there been an update to the gameplay? I have been getting shredded in the past couple of games. Gave up 18 runs and then 11 runs back-to-back. Then a couple of games later I had a 7-5 game where the teams had 18 & 15 hits each. A couple games have been simmed but also a couple have been played.

Hang in there man. It’s the ebbs and flow of the season probably. I’m almost through season 1 and at the end of August. Playing with the Braves, and man July was absolutely BRUTAL!!! August has been much better, and we have made up the ground we lost in hurry in July. I frigging love this years game!!!

Not the exact as the OP. I’m still back on v3 I think. They worked great for me and I wasn’t budging if I didn’t need to.

Well the sim games, the sliders don’t affect them. But the games you play, it might just be a stretch.

Are you seeing too many home runs?

Thanks. Yes, I was sad to see this thread down to like the 7th one down.

Trying some sliders to cut down on these strikeouts. But if these are working good for everyone you can keep rolling.

Tried legend but it feels more hit or strikeout. Played against the Padres and they had 14 hits and 18 strikeouts. They only had 6 batted outs.
It just doesn’t feel natural to me.

Yeah that's one of the changes we are testing. Quite a bit of changes overall. So far then us already the lowest strikeout totals I've had all year. One game with 4k. I was shocked lol.

I think that is the problem. It is not quite to the point where you can spam the slider but you can throw it back to back to back and keep the CPU off balance. You can get a lot of swings with bad timing and a lot of foul balls off of sliders.

Yeah sliders are tough to land in the strike zone but as long as you don't hang one you can keep the batter off balance.

I am glad someone sees the same thing that I do. The swing problem might not even be a swing problem.

The pitchers in my rotation that don't have a slider have a hell of time lasting past the 5th inning.

The slider is THE DEFACTO PITCH of MLB the Show 2023. If your pitcher has a good one they can really dominate.

Everyone's looking for ways to decrease strikeouts. I'm looking for ways to INCREASE strikeouts. I'm only averaging about 4 or 5 Ks a game. It's easy to get the CPU to 2 strikes but it seems like there's some kind of code where they swing and make contact on almost every 2 strike count I get them to. I'm halfway through a season and Zack Wheeler only has 75 K's for me.

They should work great. We are working on a new version to help control the strikeouts. But if you are having good results you can still roll with version 3.

I’ll have to check those rosters out.
