The only thing we change for the minors is we lower injury slider to 1 or 0 so you don’t get too many injuries in the minors if you like. But we just use the sim sliders since those games are simmed as well.Follow me on Twitch

Have tried these with the newest version without quick counts and it just doesn’t work. Have tried them with pitchers ratings from Strider at 95 to Bido at 65 and the opponents hits everything you throw at them. Maybe there’s just no hope for MLBTS23.
Your human hitting sliders are A+ ,but I just don’t think the human pitching is ever gonna be realistic enough to keep me locked into this game.Comment

I just finished setting up each teams lineup/rotation, for stamina edits, All RP should be at 30 with the potential of a 6th starter being at 40 correct?
Closers need to be at what stamina?

Is the issue fixed? No. There is no fixing the cpu swing and miss problem that never existed before. Only thing we can do is put the biggest and best bandaid on it and hope. Well, we have tried every brand of bandaid and every other size and the problem still reared it's ugly head at a consistent rate.
What we are working with now has by far covered up the crap most consistently, while still maintaining a fun level where you're not giving up 12-15 hits every game. Yes there are moments where a strikeout here and there felt stupidly easy. But it's not 10 of those a game now. Maybe down to like 2-3 each game. That's all I can ask for from MLB 23. Just make me work for most of my strikeouts like I'm used to from any year before 2023.
With all that said, I do think we need to find a way to lower cpu batting average just a tad. The hard part is lowering contact or timing to just 9 will cause more strikeouts immediately. So having to find another way to control hits is hard. Working on something now.

Version 4 is posted on the OP. This should hopefully be the last version of 23 as we feel this is as locked in as we are going to get with these. We FINALLY were able to tone down strikeouts using Allstar. Don't get the contact and timing at 10 scare you off. The lower power and solid hits balances it out. In 16 games, we have averaged 8.6 K per game. We have NEVER had those results in 2023. So we are very hopeful this works. We have tried contact at 9 and you start seeing strikeouts again. We did raise fielder speed to 5 to help control their offense.
Here are the changes we have made.
CPU
Contact: 10
Power: 4
Timing: 10
Solid Hits: 3
User Control: 5
User Consistency: 5
Fielder Speed: 5
User SP Stamina: 6
User RP Stamina: 7
Baserunner Speed: 2 - were seeing too many plays at the plate. Also helps get a little more double plays that will help lower the strikeouts as well.

The main thing I'm seeing (and posted this before) is that I can easily get the CPU to 2 strike counts but it seems like they almost always make contact after that Would be interesting if Quick Counts makes the difference.Comment

Could the big divide of people seeing high strikeouts vs those not come down to Quick Counts? I never use quick counts and I'm struggling to strike the CPU out using V3.

Timing could probably go down to 8 or 9. But I feel contact needs to be at 10. Version 3 we had contact and timing at 7 and I don’t think going up 1 or 2 would make a difference.Follow me on Twitch

It just seems odd that a pitching mechanism that is basically just pushing buttons is producing such different results. Unless it's something I'm doing wrong with classic pitching. I usually hold the buttons down for a second or so until right before it would be about to vibrate. If I get to a bad pitchers count I'll just tap the button to get the accuracy I need.Comment

I'm using All-Star V3 and Classic Pitching. 90% using the catcher suggestions. I'm only striking out the CPU about 5 times a game. I haven't done the rough math, but I know for sure I've never hit double digits.

My 2 cents...but I know people won't like this idea.
To reduce K's and get the cpu to produce (without increasing the sliderst such ), you have to let the AI call your pitches and you have to follow it to a tee.
Takes all the fun out of it, but it's the only way I can balance the cpu bats.
