What is difference with classic is you do not get that 2nd meter (landing?). Like when you use meter, you first hold it down to measure the power and then it comes back and you tap to get the accuracy. The ratings and confidence will determine the accuracy.

And then I could be wrong with this comparison too. If someone can correct me, please do. LOL

Most times I hold just before vibration is felt. If down like 3-1 I will tap the button. This is least effort but most likely to give you accuracy. Sometimes I tap anyway so I'm preserving stamina for my SP throughout his outing.

Most important factor for classic is the pitcher's confidence. You really have to pay close attention to that. Use mound visits properly. Yank a pitcher sooner rather than later. And probably even more important is the confidence inside each pitch individually.

If you can't locate your slider and the confidence ring is super low you really do not want to throw that. Sorta like real life, you want to work in that pitch through the game. Like a 1-2 favorable count. Throw that slider you can't locate anyway. If they chase it for a K then the confidence of that slider increases, and now you will be able to locate it better the next time.

And just like real life, you want to get your fastball going first usually. If you have trouble locating that you could be in for a long day. Just practice using these tips. Slow down and really think about what you're about to do. I use API mostly and the catcher does a pretty good job at calling a game for the most part. But sometimes you don't want to throw that 12-6 curve he's calling you can't locate on that 3-2 count.

Thanks guys, as I mentioned I totally get how the mechanic works and believe me I have tried in the past to use classic, but I determined that it just wasn't for me...I simply did not enjoy it, much in the same as I don't use pulse or pinpoint...I am more than happy with the results I get using meter pitching.

Well I might be converting back to classic...lol I've been messing around with it for a while and it started to come back to me.

        Re: S & B’s Directional/Classic MLB 23 Sliders

The Mets have 7 pitchers capable of starting a game and realistically give you at least 4 or 5 good innings if not more. I think these are the correct ratings off the top of my head.

        Justin Verlander 98
        Max Scherzer 96
        Kodai Senga 83
        David Peterson 77
        Jose Quintana 78
        Carlos Carrasco 76
        Tyler Megill 75

That is the strength of the team and you have to lean on them. I have Carrasco and Megill coming out of the bullpen for now. But Megill has been so effective I may put him in the rotation.

So you basically have TWO strong long relievers that you can use for any and all situations. They can handle a lot of the relief load and keep you from burning out your bullpen which is thinner now that Diaz is out. That is the strength of the Mets even without Diaz. As long as the bottom doesn't fall out you are literally guaranteed at lease 4 or 5 pretty decent innings. If you do have to go to your bullpen early you have multiple arms ready to go.

Even with that there is no guarantee I will win the NL East because you have the Braves and the Phillies in the same division.

I just wanted to let you know these sliders are excellent. I have been getting some great competitive games with these. I am using pitch speed at 5 because I am probably older than most of you and my eye sight and reflexes aren't as good.
One question I have that was posted earlier about CPU's bullpen. I know that the two lowest under 40 stamina pitchers go in the two LRP slots. I was a little confused that the reply to the question asked was which LRP slot was the pitcher in. Does it make a difference if the lowest stamina pitcher is in the LRP 1 or LRP 2 slot.
Keep up the good work like I said great sliders. Thanks

How are most people setting up their pitch speed? Are you setting Fastball and offspeed the same? Do you have one any higher than the other?

I'm using Fastball 6 and Off-Speed 7. Just wondering what others are using.

Doesn't really matter. I usually just go by the H/9 attribute myself. I always make sure all RP are below 40 stamina by editing if needed. I use an actual SP for the LRP/6th starter in that 4th MRP slot.

I used to do the same for both but now Im using 8/9.

I’m always early on offspeed pitches so I decided to increase that by 1.

I keep the the same. I feel if I have offspeed one higher than fastball I'm kinda of cheating the game lol. Cause now the offspeed isn't the same speed differential. But this is always personal preference on what you want and need. I'm good with default 5/5 myself. 6/6 is good for me too.

Sorry for the confusion. And thank you for the compliment. It doesn’t matter what order the LR1 and LR2 go. I just try to put the 6th starter or the guy with the highest stamina in the MR4 spot.

I will say this about pitch speed with offspeed 1 higher than fastball. If that works for you and makes the game fun then keep doing it. If it makes you have realistic numbers or need that assistance, then that works. It is only cheating the computer if you use it so you can bat .400 as a team and win every game by 10 runs.

It probably is better than trying to raise timing or contact up to help you. Not really different it you put offspeed one lower than fastball. As long as it gives you the results you want.

You don’t want to know the speeds I’m using and I will not post because it’s terrible.

I’m 46 and 2 years ago my eyes started going on me lol. I have fought like hell for those 2 years to keep from going to an eye dr. No need for glasses up until then. But they are bad enough now I have an appointment set in 2 weeks to finally get glasses. So I have had to slow it down rather than speed it up.
