Yep, that's right then I start counting every 7th game from there. For my franchise, I playing with the Nats, so I played opening day, then random was #2 starter, so I played the second game of the season, then the 9th game and so on.

I play with quick counts and quick manage all the other games so that my lineups do not get all messed up.
.. oh well, maybe next year..

Use random to play certain games? ex: every 3rd game?

Curious to see what everyone does. I would like to play every pitch of every game, but with work, family, life, etc... that becomes hard. I would like to find a good balance of playing, simming and be able to get through several seasons.

      Thanks!

I use quick counts. Playing first and last game of every series. Playing 3 of 4 on four game sets. I like going into the final game of series, and it's on me to either win the series, sweep the series, or avoid being swept.

        Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders

I have a question for those who use quick counts.

How long does it take for you to play a full game?

How does the actual game flow with quick counts?

I am thinking of giving quick counts a try for the first time.

Same. What I don't like is when you have to change pitchers, the quick counts gets tricky.

Games still take 40-45min to finish. That is Hybrid presentation and skipping a good amount of stuff.

The flow is for sure faster. Out of a comfort zone for pace and flow depends on the person. There are half innings that can only last 1-2min. But that is rare, and usually well welcomed as long as I'm pitching lol

I cannot give an exact time it takes because I have never timed it however, I can answer some other questions. The majority of the time you enter the AB at 1-1 count. I've seen some 2-1s, and 1-2s but nothing outside of that this year. I do not feel like I am getting cheated with the quick counts, I do believe it flows well. The only thing I don't love is you cannot change pitchers or batters before an AB starts, so you are entering pitchers into the game in a middle of an at bat. I can live with it but I could see that bothering some people if they are looking for total realism.

40-45 minutes sounds good to me. My games usually take 1 hour mininum and can last to damn near 2 hours if there is a lot of scoring or if it goes to extra innings.

I am starting to think that throwing every pitch every single game makes things harder than it should be due to the comeback programming.

I definitely need to integrate quick counts into my playing plans. I don't even have to do it every game but defintely need to learn to play in that style.

Thanks for the tip on the pitching. Yeah changing in the middle of the count sucks but that is a small difference.

                    Re: S & B’s MLB 2024 Simulation Sliders

I can get a game in with quick counts in like 35-40 minutes. You do sometimes get a 2-1, 1-2, or 3-1 count. But most are 1-1 counts. I feel like other years, it went on confidence. It would seem like if you are pitching and are in a jam, you'll get nothing but 3-1 or 2-1 counts. Same for hitting, if you are slumping you would get a lot 1-2 counts. This year, it feels like you get 1-1 count like 95% of the time.

I wish it would throw in a 2-0 or 0-2 count once in a while. I do miss the 3-0 counts but a lot of times, if I get a 3-1 count while hitting, I'll act like it is a 3-0 pitch.

Your pitch counts are going to be a little high. So if you can live with your 80 stamina guy be able to go 110 pitches than that is fine. If you were not using quick counts, he would probably be able to go 90 pitches. Still the same amount of innings but the pitch count gets higher faster.

I am realizing that I will not be missing anything significant in the gameplay by starting at 1-1 a large portion of the time. The only thing I would truly be missing is Chris Singleton yapping.

The increased pitcher stamina is fine by me.

I think by using quick counts the difficulty and programming is going to swing more into my favor and not be so extreme.

Brewers just scored 13 on 17 hits against me. Quick counts, the game took at least 45min. That top 8th inning was a good 10min of it lol. It will definitely shorten game times by 15-25min.

I just started playing quick counts about 2 weeks ago. I was worried about missing presentation stuff. But I checked and you do not miss any presentation or on-screen displays using quick counts.
