    TC's MLB24 HOF Directional/Classic SIM Sliders

    Beta Version 0.9 May 13th, 2024

I have settled on these sliders after almost 200 hours of just testing so far this cycle. Shoutout to bryanm1982, we have bounced alot of ideas off of each other since day 1 of release. This game has a lot of potential and I really want to make sure I have my sliders locked in before starting my every pitch, of every game franchise. The CPU offense has been weak against me most of the year, until now. Which is why I'm finally ready to post these sliders. I'm still testing, mainly USER pitching sliders, just to make sure things are exactly where I want them. I will update this post when I feel things are completely locked in once I do a little more testing.

Getting a great variety with these so far in my Braves test franchise.

Last game we shutout the White Sox, allowing just 1 single the entire game.

Very next game, through just the first inning, White Sox already have 6 runs on 4 hits and 2 HR.

They claim they haven’t made any gameplay changes this year but I find that hard to believe. Start of the year outfielders had absolutely no problem hitting the cut off man. Now all of a sudden every single throw is off line from every single outfielder, frustrating to say the least.

Dropping outfield throw errors to 2.

TC! Only asking you because our sets are kinda similar as far as trying not to stay too far away from default. Are you noticing an absurd amount of power from the user side? I have power at 4. My team ranks 30th in power. I lead the league in homeruns.

About to drop it to 3 but that seems crazy having to do that.

Haven’t been having too much trouble with power at all. I definitely go through ebbs and flows when I’m just seeing the ball better. I did a test franchise with the Nats and was slugging .390 after about 10 games lol. I then did one with the Braves and was slugging like .600 in the same sample size.

I think this year, timing has a bigger influence than the hitters attributes compared to last year. I definitely saw a lot more swings and misses last year on “good timing” swings.

Have you tried SH at 4? I know this was a staple in most slider sets only a few years back. The reason I ask is because I find the exit velo’s with power at 5 to be very close to real life numbers. Even saw a ball hit 118 mph by the CPU. I would hate for you to go to power at 3 and really never get those balls hit over 110 mph.

It’s crazy how people can get such different results. I’m using S&b slider’s and I can’t get any power going. Maybe if I keep changing the hitting camera literally every game that will help ( Insert heavy eye roll and heavy sigh)

Try strike zone camera 3 or even regular strike zone if you don’t mind not seeing your players (I prefer to see mine). What’s your biggest issue? Recognizing pitches and location or timing?

Seems to be recognizing pitches. I have a really difficult time with pulling the ball. Even with dead pull hitters. Hard to hit for any power that way.

My best suggestion would be to key hole. Sit on one pitch, in one location, until you get two strikes. I usually sit fastball dead center or a little away and look to go right back up the middle. Once you start looking just for that pitch you will really start to recognize it when it’s coming in.

Its also not a bad idea to take the first pitch of every AB (if not using QC). Even if it’s a fastball right down the middle that’s okay, just be ready and really focus on recognizing pitch and location even when taking all the way. That way you can say okay I knew that was a FB right down the middle, saw it all the way even know I took, next time I will be ready to mash it. Really focus on the pitchers wind up, timing and following the ball all the way from behind his back to the plate.

Then you will just have to get your timing down. Could take a few innings but as long as you’re swinging at just that pitch, you will start to get the timing down. Once you do that, you should be able to crush the ball because your timing will be very similar for most swings. Another good thing about this approach is that if your sitting back, letting the ball travel, trying to take the fastball right back up the middle, if they hang a breaking ball you won’t be to far out in front.

Last piece of advice, and it might sound weird, but visualize. Before each pitch, picture what a fastball right down the middle looks like and what your timing looks like on a perfect swing right back up the middle. If you don’t see the pitch you just visualized, then be ready to take if there’s not two strikes.
