Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
Dude that sucks
On a positive note, I just re-signed Hanson to a 6-year extension paying $4.7 million per season for all 6 years. His arby number was going to be $4.2 million and he was asking for $5.3 million in the extension. I can live with the $4.7 million as I bought out his arby years and 2 years of free agency without overpaying him extravagantly.Comment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
It's frustrating to have almost your entire team pitching absolutely lights out, while the batters can't hit the broad side of a barn to save their lives.
Year one all-star break. I don't think I've ever been as frustrated with a save as with this one. Chris Marrero has only played in ~10 games, I brought him up to play first because he was hitting (in 364 AB at Triple-A) .360/.420/.646 with 32 doubles, 24 HR, 40 BB and 71 K. Hopefully he can make the adjustment.
Right before the All-Star Break is when Harper finally picked his average up. He's been hovering around .250 all season (but has a decent OBP and SLG.) Zim and Werth started off hot but crashed.
Oh yeah... Jordan Zimmerman? 11-4 in 20 starts. 17 of those 20 are quality starts. 3 complete games, 2 shut outs. Straus has 17 QS in 18 starts (he got hurt and put on the 15-day DL early in the season.)
My hitting is letting me down. Storen got moved to closer after Soriano hit a rough patch, but he's bouncing back nicely in the set-up role (until he starts to complain of course.)badComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
You would have a great time with the Marlins especially with Loria being your owner LOL. On a serious note get this game now. I love the Show too, but this game's on another level in terms of management and addiction.Comment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
I don't know if you play out your games, but try the take pitch until 2 strikes for all hitters and see what happens. You can raise your OBP and wear out the opposing bullpen pretty quickly. Your power numbers may drop, but if your team keeps scoring runs, it doesn't matter all that much.
If it makes any difference, it was a pretty crazy season. The Seattle Mariners beat the Arizona Diamondbacks in the World Series... so, yeah. That happened.badComment

Re: ***The Official OOTP Thread***
The funny thing is, I'm not all that surprised. The Mariners IMHO are a little overrated offensively. Justin Smoak in particular is massively overratedComment

Damn. Beavan had a decent season eh?
I'm disappointed with Trout but confident he'll heat up soon. Pujols, Trumbo, Hamilton, and Kendrick are killing it for me. Before he got hurt, Ianetta was playing great. Conger got hot too filling in. Callaspo is the only one I'd be looking to ditch, but I will wait for Cowart to be ready. He's doing well in Double A.Comment

As a possible replacement have you given Luis Jimenez a shot? Average to above average fielder, but he's hit .296/.328/.525 for me. His plate discipline sucks, but he's got some pop, and with that lineup he's a hell of a #7 or #8 hitter. At least he has been for me.Comment
