Everyone was talking about ALL Star Baseballs great ball collision with stadium physics, ie balls deflecting off of upper decks, ect. Well I played my first Home Run Derby in HRK and hit a few 'taters' deep into the bleachers and off the scoreboards, and to my surprise, the carombing and deflecting physics off these structers actually seemed more realistic than ASB's! And to boot, you actually hear a little subtle sound effect when the balls collides with the bleachers, walls, scoreboards, ect...very realisitic and a sweet effect....It was nice dinging shots into the bleachers and seeing them ding around or hit the scoreboard like a duck and have it plummet to the ground....pretty cool.
Besides all that, I just started playing HomeRun King in general after having fun with the Homerun Derby and really had a blast playing this game.....I think it was such a misunderstood and underrated game that didnt get the attention it deserved. This game is truly as much a sim as any of the other baseball console games that came out last year and it was actually more playable....at least for me.
Too bad Sega had to shut them out for this year...I would loved to have seen them take this game further with career development and more gameplay improvements and features....its a devilishly addictive game to play. Hitting and successfully pitching is very rewarding.
