man... I dont understand still... maybe im the only one... when you say you can pick one team, or all teams... does that mean I CAN PLAY ME AND ONE OTHER PERSON EACH HAVING ABILITY TO MAKE CHANGES TO OUR TEAMS, AND PLAY THE GAMES WE WANT FOR OUR 2 TEAMS? Im sorry I keep harping on this, but it is so important! Thanks again man!

If i am not mistaken on this.........you can control all of the teams you want. That means that the cpu will not set the lineups, trades, pitching rotation etc. YOU WILL do that.
So if you want to control every team then you go right ahead.

    Got it?

Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

A few questions I would appreciate answers for:

            1) Will All-Star baseball have any sliders or other methods of tuning gameplay?

            2) Do you know the maximum length (years) a single franchise can be run?

            3) How is the menu interface? Is it easy to navigate, view rosters, and set line-ups?

            4) What are the options availible in terms of customizable camera angles?

            5) Are players rated realistically, or do they have inflated ratings (IE, Superstars are all maxed at 99)? I would prefer a game to underrate players instead of ovverrate, as that is more realistic IMO.

            6) Do players' skills raise and lower over the course of a franchise?

            7) If you could only describe one feature that made All-Star baseball THE game to buy this year, what would it be? What is it's defining feature that will put it ahead of the pack?

            8) Are there foul balls other than straight behind the batters? I ask this because in last years High Heat I rarely saw a foul ball hit.

            9) When creating players, can you set their age, or do they all start at 18?

            10) Will users be able to edit player attributes and then use those adjusted rosters for franchise play?

            11) Will users be able to edit ratings and attributes of players in an already created and running franchise?

            Thanks

Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

dick_smalls mentioned a slight vacuum effect on a ground ball hit near an infielder. My question is, is it possible, or even common, to hit groundball basehits through the infield?

Sorry, Blackgoatsemen! By the way, Are the pitch speeds the same. Can you adjust them? Thanks.

Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

The vacuum effect was a small one and I only saw it once in 2 innings so far....another thing I saw that looked nice was the outfielder came running in for a looping fly and made a routine snap catch on it...lloed good. The ball physics looked improved as well.....foul balls now seem to hook realistically into the seats. Plus I have seen a few more fouls this year than I did last year

One minor gripe is I havent found out any way to view opposing players baserunning speed...There is a man on base and I cannot figure out how to check his speed...I tried even the pause menu too to see if there is a way to view opposing players....Maybe I am missing something but I would have preffered more readily available info on BOTH teams during a game.

I ran a mound visit in the 2nd inning just for the hell of it....cool feature...they tell you the status of the player: Strong followed by a little brief description of his status, " He's mowing them down right now, no reason to consider taking him out, ect..."

Plus you get upcoming batter info in the same mound visit screen

Also the pickoff attempts look good....the throws vary over to 1st and the 1stbasemen actually slaps the tag on the diving runner.
