Also the baserunning of the cpu is more aggressive, if you waste too much time in the outfield, they will most certainly stretch their hits to doubles and more importantly triples.....relay throws are more important too. A nice touch also is every throw to the bag doesnt always come in straight on the money...a relay throw from the 2basemen went up high to third which required the 3basemen to reach up real high to grab it...im still waiting to see a throw actually come totally offline requiring a fielder or catcher to field the ball off the bag or plate completely.

        Great Googly Moogley!!!!!

I just got the game, and am messing about a bit. To early to give impressions.

BUT - I had thought to myself before that is ASB was on top of things, there'd be a roster available to download the minute I got home with the game. And there is.

Still, they don't have rights to certain players Matsui, Contreras, Reyes still haven't played a MLB inning. But Colon is on the Sox ... I dunno who else I should look for.

Sweet job Acclaim. After Sega's nonsense with delayed rosters, this is brill.

Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

VERY COOL...I finally saw a throw wide to the plate but not wild!...The CF threw it on a fly ( he fielded it real shallow ) but the throw went to the left of the plate and the catcher actually had to lung over to his left off the plate up in the air to grab it....if there was a play at the plate, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened!

            Very cool!

Dont worry about IGN's Gameplay rating...It was written by an amature....Just from the little I have seen, this is the best baseball game to date. I am enjoying the game and the added little things just seems to give the game more unpredictability then last year's version.....Ill keep you posted.

The pitcher's strong accuracy is still there from what I have seen, using the cursor pitching system, it seems still very accurate at placing your pitches but I cant comment how good or bad this is until I have played with a few more pitchers and played a few more innings.

Re: All Star Baseball... First Impressions & Questions for those with the game

I still can not get use to the cursor batting thing. It's really hard. The pitches comes at you too fast for you to properly place the cursor on it to hit.
The Easy batting is without the cursor, but something seems missing. Doesn't seem right.

Maybe with more practice in the cage I will get better.

I was never really a ASB fan, but thought ASB would change a few things.

Plain and simple.. If you liked last years game, get this years. Better Gameplay and features.

If you don't like ASB style.. Then skip it.

I got High Heat for the PS2 and the graphics are killing me. Really do not like the overall feel to the game either.

Here's looking forward to March 12th when WSB comes out and then onto the 19th for MVP.

Can you control your fielders with the D-Pad or just the Left Stick ?

Have you guys seen any hits to the right field, I know in last years it seemed that even if you swung late with a right handed batter that it was still hit to left field.
