Anyone catch the World Series celebration at about 2:30 of the trailer?

Trailer, about 1:35 the CF climbs the wall to try and rob a HR... 1:45, the batter waits at home to check and see if the ball will stay fair or go foul...

I get the feeling this game will have lots of little things like these.
      All ties severed...

I'm away from home right now -- can't wait to check out these videos. Wall climbing? Foul or fair watching? Home run hops?!? I'm so excited. My fiancee is tired of hearing about it.

EBGames just updated their release date to 10/3. Guess it all makes sense as the 10/1 date on the 2K site is their ship date, so retailers would receive stock on 10/2 and start shipping out to their individual stores the next day.

So it should be in stores sometime on Tues 10/2?

You know how it goes...some stores might have it on Tuesday (10/2), but most will likely have it on Weds (10/3).

I'm hoping the store by me has it on either Friday or Saturday. It's a small independent shop. For example, when I went by yesterday they had all the versions of Halo 3 available.
                  Go Yankees!
                  Go Packers!
                  Go RedBulls!

Forgot to post this info when the Japanese site went live, some new features for the game! Taken from my NeoGaf thread:

                    - spin on the breaking balls can be seen now (you can notice this in the GameSpot videos)
                    - there are hitter hot zones now
                    - not sure what this means, but it says there are 5 levels of lock-on, maybe level 5 lock on will be so fast that all you have to do is time the button press, and level 1 lock-on is no lock on at all, who knows.

everything else is similar to the last PawaMajor as far as i remember

                        Hitting cursor, I believe.

That's be cool if it has five levels... So that you can have it so it's just timing based, more or less. Also, if that's the case, hopefully it's not too easy this way.

Well, at least they give us a choice in setting it to make it just right for your tastes. Don't forget that you can completely turn off lock-on as well.

I'm confused. So what exactly is the lock-on feature? It locks the hitting cursor into one position based on where you think the pitch is going to be?

It automatically moves the bat cursor to where the ball will be when it crosses the plate (the sweet spot of the bat will try to line up with this position). The various levels will likely determine how fast it gets there.

At lower levels it will still be late (so you'll likely hit a foul ball or even miss depending on pitch location) but even at this level it may help you out in protect-the-plate situations. You'll still need to move the bat yourself into proper position to get a good swing on the ball, so at these levels you can think of the option as a training-aid to help you get used to batting and taking pitches.

At the highest level the cursor will likely move to the location right before the ball crosses the plate, so all you have to worry about is swing timing. This can be used for people who prefer this sort of batting gameplay as opposed to manually moving the bat cursor. Note that you can still adjust the cursor yourself if you want to try and hit the ball with a different part of the bat.

Thanks for the explanation. Sounds interesting, man. I guess I'll have to see what works best with the Wii remote.
