I got the ASB 2004 GOOSEBUMPS after THIS!....

Man o Man, If you ever doubted this game at all or if your just on the fence and need something to give you a little push OR if you just want a little 'somethin somethin' to get you all goosebumpy inside and make you more excited about this game then you ever have??.......

Well then I URGE you to read the ASB RULEBOOK section of the game....dont worry, its not gonna put you to sleep...you are gonna read some details and stuff in there that is gonna boggle your mind about this game if you ever doubted it's complexity!.....This is as deep a Franchise as I have ever seen...please read the ASB RULEBOOK, I hate manuals but this is a MUST...And if you cant find time to read it...just read the section on the BUDGET BREAKDOWN....it'll make you all toasty inside when you see some of the stuff this game includes in it's engine.....trust me, there is alot of stuff that is NOT discussed in the manual at all and it explains how alot of things are determined in the game.....For example it discusses how budgets are determined each year, how you can move from a small market franchise to a bigger one, how constant success can move you up in the tiers.....NEW STADIUM revenues in future years can help as well.......

There is alot of stuff that blew my mind that went into this video game! Arbitration Negotiations and how they can lead to your player being bitter toward your franchise and not resigning with you!, Strategies for Options and Waivers.....WOW!

This game is deep! Sorry if you already read all this stuff and think Im a lunatic...Im just so excited now to learn my great game just got that much deeper and more complex!

Oh and CHECK THIS OUT!.......My team comes up in the bottom of the ninth after the opposing CPU team just took the lead for the first time in the top hal of the ninth...What do they do?.......They bring in their DEFENSIVE Stronger throwing CATCHER!....I kid you not. Too damn cool!!!

BTW, my damn Delino DeShields blew another routine play in the outfield for me to cost me that game in the 9th by having one skim of the heel of his glove! Im lovin this game!!

Flexx...the PROSPECT BOOK opens up I think after the season.....it lets you scout new talent....which is another great feature of this game...man is it deep. but read the ASB RULEBOOK, it explains so much that isnt in the MANUAL. I almost overlooked this thing thinking that it was just a section that explained the rules of baseball which it's not....it basically explains all the valuable stuff about your franchise, drafting, arbitration, waivers, budgets, scouting, training, ect.

Its very enlightening and will give you a VERY NEW respect for the enormous depth of this game.......It's actually deeper than OOTP in many ways!

It's almost a crime to see the mediocre reviews this game has gotten after reading and seeing all these gameplay things.

That rulebook is HUGE! I haven't read it yet, but i've glanced at it, and it's incredible the amount of detail in it.

I too had a great game this afternoon. I was pitching a great game with Pedro, and i'm up 2-1 in the top of the ninth at home. Pedro is still pitching because it looks like he still has his stuff. So i get two batters out. No one on, two outs. I work the next batter to 2 strikes - i think 1-2. I was REALLY working the count well, and had him set up perfectly for a strikeout on this next pitch. So i select a curveball and aim it low and away, outside of the strike zone, thinking for sure that he would bite and stike out. Well, the pitch wasn't as low and away as i was hoping, and he makes contact. It's a fly-ball down the right field line. If you are familiar with Fenway at all, you will know that there is a little section near the right field foul poll that is really short from home plate (forget the exact feet). Well, it clears the foul poll and lands in the first row for a home run! I couldn't believe it! This was also the first HR i've seen that didn't have the cutscene, so the suspense as the ball was travelling was intense. Any other park, and it may have dropped in for an hit, possibly caught. I left Pedro in ONE PITCH too long! We wound up going into the 13th inning and they scored 2 runs to take the lead and finally the game. I lost the game, but it sure was exciting! I just couldn't believe how they were able to muscle back for the lead. Yeah, i'm loving this game!

HE HE......yeah, I love the fact that nothing is ever a sure thing in this game!!

And for those of you that are still too stubborn or lazy to read any of the ASB RULEBOOK, here's a snippet that may get you reading:

"A Good scouting dept. will be able to present a more accurate report on several additional prospects. A cheaper scouting budget will lead to fewer scouts and will severly hamper their ability to affectively scout many prospects...........more info..........Poor picks lead to distrust in the scouting department and usually a very dim future."

COACHING: " .............info.........without proper guidance a young talented player may never recognize their full abilities. With the helping hand it is possible to take an underated prospect and make him into a solid major league contributor!"

And wait till you see all the strategy and detail that is involved with simply trying to send a major league player without OPTIONS on his contract down to the minors!.....you guys gotta read the ASB RULEBOOK.....WOW.

I have to go play some more now!
