Well put me back on the ASBB owner list. I know I'm getting WSBB and MVP so I took back ASBB yesterday.
Today I re-purchased it. I just could not stop thinking about it

That is the greatest compliment that Acclaim could possibly read. That isn't fanboy loyalty. This game is phenomenal.

The game is very good. Each game will have their good and bad. So after WSBB and MVP I will pretty much be set on what type game I want to play.

While I admire Acclaim's efforts with the franchise mode, I can't get past the gameplay which to me plays less like "real" baseball than HH. That doesn't mean I have any problem with you guys liking it, I just couldn't ignore thinking it when reading your posts.

It's weird, I have a friend that doesn't play any of these and is a developer, and before it came out and we were reading reviews he mentioned "sounds like it's feature bloat", ie: keep adding cool features and don't address gameplay issues. I've seen that happen before, but I"ve never seen anyone push the boundries of a franchise mode so far so I didn't believe they would fail to overhaul gameplay. However, having tried it, he's spot on (in my book).

Regardless, glad you're enjoying it guys. Gamings all about having a good time! I'm in anticipation of HH for the PC somtime soon

I have two loves, my girlfriend and All Star Baseball. I am in college and this game, basically I find myself playing it when I should be doing homework, screw it though, I love this game, I bought it on friday, didnt play it on sunday, had to work 7-7, and I am right now, going to play my 30th game, okay, so for all who say this game is boring and has no gameplay, man, you guy are so off, this game is the fans of baseball dream about, wsb will be nice, and mvp, I dont even know, but in order for those games to be superior, it almost feels impossible
                Peace

I think I'm going to read the entire ASB rulebook this weekend because the instruction manual sucks. I'm sure it has some very important information on Roster Management in there. It would have been nice if they would have included the rulebook in the manual.

I guess cost cuts also included ink and paper.

Well in a bit of defense to the ASB RULEBOOK vs the MANUAL, the RULEBOOK isnt so much a set of gameplay instructions as it is more of a guide and strategy section for the GM aspects of the game that could have been a bit too heavy or overwhelming for some of the casual players. It's more catered to help you get the most out of the deeper parts of the Franchise mode and how and why certain things happen...Also it gives some good real world examples of situations such as the strategies or lack off behind the Jose Canseco trade with the Yankees and Devil Rays and such.....

Either way, It's a very good read to help you get the most enjoyment out of ASB 2004

The manual could have included create-a-player information...it could have included more roster managment information.
