PYS5 - FAQ, Manual help, etc..

Thought maybe we should create a thread specifically for dealing with gameplay questions considering the the game and manual are in Japanese. Moderator if you feel this isn't necessary please don't hesitate to delete.

Found the following link which has some very basic helpful info..

        I just noticed something...

For the hitting options, the bottom option according to the BigManZam guide is "Zone". So, is it in fact a true zone style hitting?!?! One where you aim at the ball with the analog stick???

I'm testing it out right now, because all along I've been thinking it was just a one button press timing style, based upon what I've read in forums... And it seems to be making a difference!

When you press left or right the camera shifts... It could very well be zone!

This could theoretically change things pretty drastically.

I'm going to keep testing this out.

I have not tried zone hitting yet, let me know what you think.

Well, after one game I'm pretty certain that it is a true zone style hitting and not just a one button timing swing. Because the hitter seems to be more on the ball, making better contact, with a better ability to hit pitches out of the zone... And I could've swore I saw some different swing animations.

Whatever the case, I'm still going to use that style because I really don't care for the others.

A nice surprise really, and it makes sense too. Because a one button timing swing was last used in a 3D home console game... When?

Awesome news!!! I was growing weary with this game as I can't hit worth a **** using the cursor or the "big cursor" options.

              VERY NICE

Will try it out this morning when I get home. Maybe I can actually give the CPU a challenge now

Re: PYS5 - FAQ, Manual help, etc..

                Some questions:

                1. Where exactly do you find the difficulty setting that will adjust the AI to your ability? I've read that it's the option that reads: "おまかせ". But I can't find it anywhere. Is it under supposed to be in the "Computer AI" section of the "Difficulty" settings? The BigManZam guide makes no mention of a setting that will adjust the AI to your ability, and I've unlocked every "Setting" in the shop... And can't seem to find anything labeled: おまかせ.

                2. In the shop there is an unlockable "Setting" that you can toggle on or off from the shop menu. What does this do when on?

                3. Anyone know what the "Install to HDD" does from the Main Menu: Utility section (the same place where you can choose to change the settings)? I went ahead and did it and it took about 5 minutes to apparently install something... But nothing seems to be changed about the game... Maybe it has to do with online play (something I haven't tried)?

                4. Under the Defense section in the settings, there is the option (thrid option from the top in the defense section) to change something BigManZam translated to: "Formation (Advanced base covering)". It can be set to Standard, Basic, or Pro. What does this setting do???

                  1. That option from what I see is in pennant mode(only mode I play) only under CPU difficulty.

                  2. I have no idea?

                  3. Not sure?

                  4. Has to do with how fielders backup each other up (from what I understand).

Quick Q... is there a way to warm up relief pitchers before puttin' them in the game?

                        Thanks in advance.

Now that explains a lot because i didnt see that option in exhibition mode either

So in exhibition mode what is a more realistic level to play on , hard or normal?

                          Thx

I don't think you can think of things in terms of realism. I think you have to think of things in terms of difficulty, like, "Can I beat the computer on this level?"

I do know on hard you'll see more pitches on the corners, and the CPU will hit you better.

I dont have PYS5, but that link led me to a thread that had menu translations for Power Pro 10 for the DS, so I just wanted to give thanks.
