Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
From my short experience with the meter each pitcher is exactly the same, but the results are very different. I've pitched with Johan and if I miss a little the ball moves a little bit away from its intended location. If I'm pitching with Oliver Perez and I miss the ball jumps quite a ways further than the intended location. It's definitely challenging with the CPU hitting set to powerful!Comment

Oh yeah, and MLB just has to go crazy with trade deadline moves to make my life even harder editing this thing.Comment

Arrange mode will have to be your friend. There's no way in hell that the game will approve these trades once you break them into a series of 2-way swaps.Comment

Yeah that's what I've been doing, I'm arranging and editing them like a madman, gotta get them done. Only have about 7 more teams to go, plus the Griffey trade and the Man Ram non-sense.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!

I haven't looked yet to see if he has them or not, but I love the glasses in this game. I know K Rod had some in last years game and they looked pretty cool.Comment

Before you begin your game you need to go into options and make sure you select expert pitching and not classic. After you begin your wind-up you will see a blue circle expand around the area you are aiming your pitch. As soon as it expands it then retracts and the more you let it retract the more accurate your pitch is when you tap the button. If you don't hit the button in time he'll throw a ball right down the middle and sometimes you might see a "!" over his head indicating you missed the accuracy point and in turn screwed the pitch up.
Also as ComfortablyLumb pointed out when you begin your wind-up the ball marker spins indicating you are adding more velocity to the ball the longer you hold the button down. I'd be careful with using full velocity though because my guys have been getting gassed after 50 - 60 pitches.
It takes awhile to get used to. I'm still getting used to it. It's challenging though which is good.Last edited by Kane182; 07-31-2008, 08:31 PM.Goozex

Yeah, it's amazing how they can get someone to look dead on in this game, they just change the look of the eyes the haird and facial hair and a lot of them look dead on.Comment

Re: Official MLB Power Pros 2008 thread!
Walking is definitely more possible this year. Seems like a combination of less 3-ball pitches just being safely thrown over the plate and more borderline calls going in the batter's favor. A pitch on the black is no longer a guaranteed strike. I wouldn't go expecting a five walk night though.Comment

Ok, thanks man!
I'll be heading back to this post when I finally sit down to set up some ideal game settings.
So when you set it up it's like 2k classic controls with the pulsating thing kinda.
Just got the NL West to go and I'm done finally, I don;t know how people do rosters that do like NCAA and all those teams and all those players. This kicked the crap out of me and it's only 30+ teams, and a few players here and there.Comment
