Re: OOTP X
Ok, had the game running yesterday (no problems) - however, today when I went to load it up I received this message:

Any idea why this is happening? Any suggestions to fix it?Comment

It seems to me like the game just set to default because of the crash...YNWAComment

Re: OOTP X
This is my first year with OOTP, but I'd love to join an online league. Let me know if you guys get this started. Just PM me! I'm in!Comment

Re: OOTP X
Not sure who said that, but I wouldn't have a problem helping run the league. I've got plenty of time to do so, just don't have any experience running one.
Think it'd be best to use Fidel's website (http://allsimbaseball.com/)? I know his costs aren't high at all. Or does someone have some webspace we could use?Return of the MackComment

Re: OOTP X
I don't know if it was mentioned at any point, but do people want a fictional or a real MLB league? I prefer fictional by a wide margin, but it's not a big deal if we do a real world based league.Comment

Re: OOTP X
Glancing through this thread, these are the people I see that have expressed interest in a league. If I missed you, or you are no longer interested, just let me know and I'll add/remove you.

I've got a friend who is interested in joining a league, so if we don't want to restrict it strictly to OS'ers (Although he does post on the Front Office Football forums portion of OS) he'd be an additional person. He was into OOTP back with OOTP8 I believe, but skipped 9 and is getting back into it with 10.Comment

Re: OOTP X
Here is basically how it works.
- One coach in the league is the commissioner. He is also likely a coach. He sets up the server space with the correct directory paths etc. He assigns coaches to the teams he wants and has them set a password for their team.
- After agreeing on the type of league, rules etc, the commish uploads the league file. He issues a FTP username and password to all league members and they download and import the league file.
-Each GM makes changes to his team, lineup , scouting, everything you would do in a single player game and then uploads the changes to the server (This is all done in game).
-The commish then advances for a pre-determined number of days, say a week and then uploads a new league file.
-Rinse and repeat
So basically, the commish creates the league , provides the league file and the GMs download the file, make changes to their team and upload the changes. The commish then simulates a week and then provides the new file for the GMs.
All stats, news , box scores, etc would be available through your browser as the game creates HMTL reports for everything in the league.
I am down for fictional where we create our own teams, logos and uniforms, have a inaugural draft and go from there. We can have a salary cap or it can be based on what city your team is in. I am more for a cap league as it makes it more competitive. We can have rule 5 , 40 man rosters and full minors as well to keep it somewhat similar to MLB.
Im down for calling the league OSOOTP unless there are some objections.Last edited by Matt Diesel; 06-09-2009, 01:53 PM.Return of the MackComment
