I got 4 and then 5 Loved 4 and admired 5...6 i did not get and this years? I'm not too optimistic about since MLB 2K10 and MLB 10 are fantastic.

The only thing that would sway me would be a English translation on/off feature...

having to depend on 'guessing" what the game can do leaves me only playing 25% of the game though "WHAT A GAME!" it is...

I checked the Japan Store last Friday and there wasn't one, and I'm not entirely sure there will ever be one. I don't think there has been in the past, but I could be wrong on that.

I'm hoping there will be this year, as it might save me the $80 import sites are charging for this game.

One thing I wish they would add is a playoff mode. Having only the options for a brief exhibition game, or the epic saga of a full season/franchise, is really just too limited. MVP 05 was the same way and it left a lot to be desired.

Having a playoff mode would be great too because there'd be little english translation needed, at least not much more than is needed for single games because there'd be no trades or general managing.

The website has been updated, with a slew of new information too... None of which I can really decipher at first glance.

The big thing is three brief videos: one for normal mode, one for manager mode, and one for the created player mode (Road to the Show equivalent, I forget what it's called). The latter two both show that brief black loading screen unfortunately. I'm beginning to wonder if they'll ever get rid of that.

Ugh. This game looks so good! If only there was an English language text option! I just know, for me personally, I would not enjoy the game as I would get frustrated by the language barrier. Especially for the $80 price tag it brings with it.

Does anyone have a copy of PYS6 they are looking to part with? I would perhaps be interested in that if the price was right.

Not ported to the PC? Too bad as it could possibly be modded. I haven't seen the ball take any arced paths, however. Does it?

Don't worry about the english translation option. I understand where you are coming from and it would be nice, but it not needed to fully enjoy this game. All you need is the PYS5 translation guide for the option and pre-game menus. It's nearly identical in PYS6. And in PYS6, for WBC mode, most of it is in english.

If you've never played this game (any version), don't let the fact that there is no english option stop you from playing the best baseball engine ever made. With translation guides, you'll learn your way around in no-time. I haven't really done a full season or some of the other modes, partially due to the language barrier, but just being able to play exhibition matches is worth it. Trust me.

I think PYS6 would better suit me than 2010 (since PYS6 has WBC mode) so I'm hoping someone will be trying to sell their copy of PYS6 soon with 2010 coming out. I'd like to pick up 6.. hopefully around $35-40.

If anyone may be trying to get rid of PYS6... PM me.

*JUDGING SOLELY FROM THE WEBSITE UPDATE*, i dont see enough changes for "causal" owners of PYS6 to upgrade this year. What's new:

                        - Updated roster - Johjima is back from the US, 2 big Korean league acquistions, new hyped up rookies, etc
                        - New Rookie mode controls - 1 button pitching (no release point), timing-only batting, auto fielding, etc
                        - Grandprix mode - basically the offline, action version of the popular PYS6 online card manager mode. You start off with a base team which consists of minor league/bench players and as you earn points from games you can buy new pack of cards and acquire better players. All your cards can level up and become better too. The default mode is Manage only so you only give the occasional "walk the batter/try to steal 2nd" commands. But you can also unlock full action play and actually play baseball in this mode. This will be extremely addictive and it is easily my main reason of purchase.

                        - minor graphical touches - batted balls now have a flashy trail line when it leaves the bat. thats the most obvious to me.

This game is the king of arced paths, my friend. Arc are actually divded into 7 classes in PYS. 1 is like your grandmother and you will probably never hit a homerun and 7 is like your barry bonds/steroid sluggers. You will hit some towering flyballs with 7. Most japanese hitters are around 3 to 5 in the game. Please note that arc is not your power rating though. they are separate. So a guy with 1 and B power will probably slash a ton of linedrive doubles. a guy with 7 arc and D power will probably be a useless pop up flyball old washed up ex-major leaguer coming off multiple back and knee surgeries. So yes, ARC - another reason why this game has the best baseball engine ever and what American developers NEED to copy next.

Yeah they also seemed to say they improved something regarding bunting. Not sure exactly, maybe the angle of bunts or something. If anyone can shed some light on what looks to be improved in terms of bunting that'd be great.

I for one was hoping to have the ability to check swings in PYS2010. I couldn't find anything conclusive in regards to that.

Also, what exactly is "timing-only batting"? Is that a new variation of cursor batting or a new batting option altogether? And what exactly is different about "timing-only batting"? Hasn't cursor batting (or any other batting option for that matter) always been timing-only in PYS? If timing-only batting means you don't have to aim at all then why would anyone choose that batting type? What makes PYS great is the cursor batting that is aiming and timing.

no there is nothing new about bunting at all. they are just telling you R2 is used for bunting

timing-only means NO CURSOR. just wait for the pitch and press hit. keep in mind that this is a feature in the new ROOKIE mode so it's not for all of us who are seasoned gamers.

I don't necessarily mean power, but more so does the ball curve left and right (i.e., curve in or out along the hit path)? Why wouldn't they make this game for the PC as well?
