I disagree about the pitching meter. It really isn't all that realistic. For those of you that play baseball, and even moreso are pitchers, you know that you can throw as hard as you can almost any time you want. You really don't need a pitch-meter to throw as hard as you can.

Well I have to admit, I'm not a pitcher.....but if I were, wouldn't I be able to change up speeds on my pitches. I mean, if I'm throwing a curve ball, I'm not trying to throw it as hard as I can??? So with the meter, I can adjust my pitch speed as well. I mean, it's a video game...everything has to simulate a part of baseball. Obviously, pushing one button doesn't exactly simulate pitching either...so I don't understand your point. Bottom line I do believe, we want something challenging. I was really thinking of the meter in terms of location anyways...I hadn't even thought of pitch speed....but I don't think the hard part of MVP's meter is tapping it at the speed point (they really call it effectiveness point), it's stopping it at the accuracy spot. Just like madden, kicking field goals....I have no trouble with the power location, it's the accuracy that I miss sometimes. That's how I see pitching being...so yes, I do believe the meter simulates pitching quite well. And just like a pitcher I'm assuming, if I wanted to change speeds a few mph here and there, I could stop the power meter just short....but like I said, it's really effectiveness and accuracy that I'm looking for in the meter.

I think there pitching interface is fine....they just need to work on adjusting accuracy and fatigue. They dont need to do anything gimmiky.

Oh I'm sure there's lots of ways to get the job done...but somehow someway they have to make it to where if I select to throw the ball down the middle of the plate, I might still miss away or high or somewhere...,In previous editions of ASB, if I selected down the middle of the plate, there was an absolute 0% chance of missing the strike zone. That just cannot happen.

I'd rather see a High Heat-like interface where you basically pick your spot and whether you're trying for a ball or a strike. This is much more like real life than is ASB. I don't ever recall thinking

Okay...I want to throw this fastball a quarter inch above his belt and a little bit over the outside corner

Rather, I thought Okay...I want to throw high and outside And whether it actually went there depended on how accurate I was.
