Can't wait for the baseball season!!

I have to tell you guys, MS is surprising the hell out of me this year!!! The have made huge innovations!! Sega and EA better watch out (EA mostly)...I think MS is here to stay for a while and soon (next year or so) will become standard and from the history of MS, they are never happy with their products, they always want better!!!

I suppose this isn't a big surprise considering IT IS MS and they are attempting to take over the world!!! I am really excited for the all sports games coming out!!! I will most likely buy every MS sports games!!!

Don't move so fast there, buddy! Think back to ANY sports title that has debuted. Was it ever what you would call "just what I was looking for!"?

You can bank on it, that it will be pretty much a beta product, no way Microsoft (I don't care if they have $10 Trillion dollars) makes this a great product the first year.

Hopefully they won't mess with the Batter/Pitcher interface too much. That's the bread and butter of this franchise. Just add nice graphics, sounds and a boatload of new animations.

This could be the best baseball game next summer if MS plays their cards right.

      Amen. I love HH's pitcher/batter interface.

Mustardman - While I do agree with you I also disagree. I agree that Microsoft doesn't have that much time and it will be a Beta essentially. Combining 2 games can't be very easy to do and you're going to get some good and some bad with both. However, with the $$$ and manpower that Microsoft has, they are one of the very few companies that I think could do it...

It's like buying a car for parts. They'll probably strip out all the good stuff, like the sim engine, and throw the rest away.

Or, they could be buying it to kill some competition. I doubt HH sales accounted for much, but it's a possibility. One less competitor in the over-saturated baseball market is a good thing.

Well at least the game isn't dying, but I'd have to agree with you about next years release. They've got to get to work on this game NOW and I wonder how many changes they'll make. The only thing that needs to be changed the first year, in my opinion, are the graphics. I hope they don't try too much and wind up with a game FULL of bugs.

I'm not sure it's going to be that easy. I wrote code for a while and I think it's going to be a big headache at first. You've got 2 different engines that do 2 different things. When a groundball is hit to the 2B in HH, a certain set of circumstances is possible (this could be 100's of lines of code). Same goes for Inside Pitch, but the code is going to be very different from that of HH. So which code goes and which stays and what's re-written? That's going to take some time to iron out.

I would like for IP's graphics to stay and HH's gameplay to stay, but once again the gameplay of HH was for HH's graphics engine, not IP's (and vice versa). So it won't be real easy to just combine them or rip part of the code out and insert another part. But like I said earlier, with Microsoft's $$$ and manpower, anything's possible...

I'd hope Microsoft would go with High Heat's engine, but figure out a way to implement next generation graphics on the title. IMHO it would make more sense than slapping the High Heat name on INSIDE PITCH 2004.
