Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video
Has anyone played with the teams that have the new import players? I was just wondering about the ability stats for hoffpauir (fighters), Chad Tracy ( carp) and the new RF for the dragons.....I keep forgetting his name and always get him and blanco mixed up because they both plated in the Dominican winter league......can anyone post their ability stats? ThanksMLB: Chicago Cubs

Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video
The new foreign players in this year's game are rated pretty low. Guzman (RF from Chunichi) is in the low 60s I think and hoffpauir is even worse. Not sure what tracy's number is but it's not any better. Guys like Murton and Blanco however are rated very well. Guess you gotta prove yourself before konami will give ya any love. LolComment

YES!.... Guzman...thanks for the quick post and refreshing my memory with guzman......Yeah, konami is tough rating players....Brazell should have way better stats...than he had last year....he's been a power house since he arrived 3 years ago......and hoffpauir is off to a great start (.313 BA, 4 HR, 11 RBI) and has given the fighters what they needed....a power/corner player in the middle of order...I like that they moved Itoi to the 3 spot and have Koyano (RBI Beast) as cleanup and they also dropped Inaba to 5 and Micah is 6...if hoffpauir continues to hit that way they'll prob swap him to 5 and Inaba to 6...
Konami always goes by what the player is producing at the moment instead of career stats.....you will see in the initial update (maybe May/June timeframe) the streaky players that are hot get a big bump and when the next update comes if they cool off they stats will be horrible.....that's just the way they do it.....if it's an established japanese player stats won't change too much regardless of how they're playing.....then you have the foreign players get aweful updates...like Alex Ramirez....an established player and the most consistant offensive player in the past decade (Mr. Triple Crown Threat) had some horrible updates last year yet he had another fantastic season offensively.MLB: Chicago Cubs

Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video
The best rated newcomer/new foreigner in the game is Chad Tracy since he has the most MLB experience. Joel Guzman has lots of power in the game but horrible contact ratings.
Edit: Mike Hessman is actually the best new foreigner?
I also love the fact that the Buffaloes have the old Blue Wave unis.Last edited by jvalverde88; 04-23-2011, 07:26 PM.Mets/Giants/Knicks/Rangers/Manchester United/Notre Dame Football

When will Konami release their first update? I'm sure hoffpauir's ratings have to get a li'l better with how's he playing. Guzman, on the other hand, has been terrible.Comment

I expected Tracy and Micah to have good (decent stats) and Guzman to along the lines of Blanco since thay have similar styles....But Hessman???? I want some of THAT sake....LMAO!MLB: Chicago Cubs

Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video
i dont know the exact science on how konami determines the rating for new foreigners but i think it's a combination of both MLB career and japanese spring training stats. I hope they update soon though like Cyphre mentioned Hoffpauir is playing great but he is currently crap in the game and I am using the Fighters in season mode. right now he's pretty much dead meat on 2 strikes because his contact cursor is so small and he has the strikeout negative ability.
Here are last year's updates (might be 1 or 2 days off):
Game Release: April 1st
First player update: April 23
Second update: June 25
Final update: August 23Pro Yakyu Spirits Translation Site

A perfect example is Michihiro Ogasawara....I know he is considered one of the greats in NPB...but he struggled last season towards the end when he was even benched in a few games down the stretch.....this year he has been to an awful start hitting just .152 with 0 HR......yet, I can almost guarantee (I haven't been able to play PYS 2011 yet) that his stats are some of the best....like hitting a C and/or B against lefties and/or righties with an A for power and only needs 1 level to awaken (max out potential)MLB: Chicago Cubs

Well to be fair as long as you have had a long, consistent career in Japan you could be japanese or white or black, konami would still give you great attributes, it's just that they are all over the place sometimes with brand new foreigners.
also awaken has nothing to do with abilities. it's usually your age and potential. any old guy, good or bad, will only have 1 or 2 levels of awaken. young rookies, again good or bad, will have 5 or 6.Pro Yakyu Spirits Translation Site

Here's his ratings in PYS 2011...
Contact vs Right: C/62
Contact vs Left: C/65
Power: A/82
Overall Power (which factors in special abilites etc): S
If he didn't gas out at the end of last year maybe he'd have "B" contact? I dunno, looks pretty fair all things considered.Comment

Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video
Muka, Swaldo......you both make great sense and I do agree, however, I was talking about Ogasawara in comparison to one of my earlier posts with Rami.
Alex Ramirez has been for the past decade a triple crown threat in NPB batting well over .300 AVG., 30+ HR 100+ RBI during that stretch....but his stats were HORRIBLE in the game last year after he had a slow start but a VERY strong finish. I don't know what they gave Rami this year....but last year it took 3 levels to awaken him (max him out)
Now if we compare Rami's stats to Ogasawara just last year: Ogasawara hit .308 avg, 34HR and 90RBI, on the other hand Rami hit: .304avg, 49HR and 129RBI.... that's 15 more HR and 39 more RBI.....for some players in NPB that difference alone is a good season....Ogasawara has never had a 40 HR season in 14 years, Rami has 3 in 10 seasons......and Ogasawara has had 100 or more RBI in a season 4 times in his carrer.....Rami has had that the last 8 seasons in a row....you tell me.
Oh, Swaldo....while Ogasawara has avg close to 600 AB a season,,,Rami has avg about the same for his career....Ramirez is like Pujols (offensively) in NPB
BTW, what are Ramirez' stats like this year?Last edited by Cyphre; 04-25-2011, 07:37 AM.MLB: Chicago Cubs

I see what you're saying, the comparison went right over my head. Here's Rami's 2011 ratings...
vs R: D 55
vs L: B 77
Power: S 93
OVR: C/A/S
He awakens once to max then becomes...
B 78
A 82
S 95
OVR: A/S/S
Ogasawara has 2 awaken levels to max then becomes...
