Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video

I never got around to getting into a game online, but it's exactly the same from what I saw. There were open games with guys in Japan, but at the time I looked, there wasn't a translation for online so I didn't know what I was doing.

I haven't seen a Korean version of 2011 yet, and plus I didn't feel like waiting for one, so I bought the Japanese version from yesasia, they don't charge sales tax & shipping was free, I received it in about 10 days total.

You better go into defensive training, practice and get your stuff together if you're going to play Cyphe, he will make your guys work.

And why do the Koreans get their own instruction manual and we dont? Sheeze! And it's a REAL manual - something like 40-50 pages. Not the wimpy 5 page manuals that come in most American games.

Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video

I'm struggling with my "win a game with the Marines" challenge... So far I've had three close losses, including a match where I lost 1-2 leaving the bases loaded twice. I gave up a 2 run HR bottom 9th when my pitcher threw a "!", so that was rightfully deserved. I need Tsuyoshi Nishioka back!
To ease the frustration, I chose to play one as the Tigers. The difference is like night and day in terms of difficulty. It becomes a hit-fest and easy to win.

We've got to get a little excitement going for this game in order to get it westernized... If a bunch of Yakuza fans did it for Sega, then maybe we can get Konami to do the same too.

I'm an avid user of the Marines myself and you're absolutely right that their offense sucks! I did SO MUCH better when I used Chunichi, but what can I say I like my Marines.

I was winning a game against the Eagles yesterday, 3-1 in the bottom of the 8th, when my set up man walked 2 guys and then gave up a 3-run homerun! His control was awful, Fs and Gs for all of his pitches. Their closer isn't much better. And what's with Ogino playing shortstop? He needs to go back to centerfield. I also miss Nishioka, this team just isn't very good this year.

Hey guys.....the Twins are also missing Nishioka....lol.....ok bad joke.

On the other hand....the Marines are starting to adjust and are playing very well (in real life).....maybe the update (s) will reflect that.......My favorite Marines players ar Imae and Saburo....in that order....(Imae and T. Okada are my favorites in all NPB)....but they sure don't look or feel the same without Nishioka

If all you're going to do is mess around with some exhibition games and you dont care about updated rosters go with 2010. If you're into 'chise and want more TV presentation go with 2011.
SWALDO, Are the new animations also in the psp version in addition to the enhanced tv presentation given the fact that sony maxed out the psp capabilities?

They maxed out the graphics, animations and TV cut-scenes are just a size issue. So yes, there are more animations and improved TV presentation in the PSP. I dont think as much as the PS3 version, but still it's an upgrade in those areas.

I'm curious to know how others who watch cpu v cpu games perceive this:

I've purchased PYS since PYS 4 to 2011. I strictly watch CPU games. I have noticed that in PYS 10 (psp) & 11 (ps3) that more than not, the scores are close (1 or 2 runs apart) when watching different teams play . I know there is a setting that can be activated (I think climax) that keeps games close but it seems that this is happening already. PYS 6 seemed to have more spacing between scores on a regular basis. Does anyone else get into cpu v cpu and see similar results.

I'll watch a CPU vs CPU game every now and then, mainly when I want to check out a particular team and/or player. There are always a lot of swinging strikeouts, and they rarely make contact. Usually pretty boring, actually. I like a faster paced game so I don't often watch the entire thing, I'm just too impatient.

So when you say you strictly watch CPU v CPU, do you mean that's all you do? I mean, you do play the game, right? Hopefully . . . . .

Just received my copy guys and am very excited to try this baby out tonight. A little worried though...On the back it says "For Japan Only" ??? I purchased this off of PlayAsia and it said on their site the game I bought was not region protected. Will I be able to play it?

There is no region protection for Playstation 3. Your game will absolutely work. Be sure to check out Muka's website, www.spiritstranslation.com. It will help you get through game.
