And thank you for the Inception reference! I thought I was the only person that really liked that movie, nobody I know cares for it. My wife hates it.
WHAT?!? She needs to go (don't tell her I said that....lol).....I watch that movie all the time...LOVE IT! That has been the best non-foreign movie I have seen in years.....and the most original since the matrix.

My wife and I have watched it together about 4 times (and she can't stand to watch movies more than once) and every time we come out with new theories.

I almost hate for them to make the sequal (already announced) because I'm afraid it won't live up to the 1st movie (ala Matrix Revolution and Reloaded)

My wife is retracting her statement; she doesn't hate the movie, she just doesn't really wanna watch it again . . . ever. LOL Have you seen Shutter Island? (Another Leo flick) That was another movie that I very much liked though no one else did. Maybe it's me!

Anyways, Muka is telling me I should try out the Buffaloes. (I'm having trouble deciding on a team for Pennant Mode) I played a game with them and I wasn't terribly impressed. Gotoh was great, driving in 3 runs, but I just don't have much of a connection with that team. I love the Marines and am leaning in that direction, but those Baystars tempt me. Like a bug zapper attracts a moth. I love to rebuild crappy teams, or atleast try to. I dunno. I wanted to wait for the first roster update from Konami, so in that case I'll have plenty of time to decide.

Another movie I enjoyed.....so its not just you......I think DiCaprio is very underrated ....I've enjoyed his movies that I have watched.

Buffaloes is another team I like.....2 of my fav players are on that team...T. Okada and Gotoh....

If your looking for a challenge....what bigger than bringing the BayStars out of the sewers and make them a championship team?

I like the Marines too....actually I like all teams except Giants.....but I do feel guilty when I don't pick the BayStars.....I guess it's loyalty guilt trip....

I started mine with them....and I want to get Uchikawa, Aikawa and Tamura back where they belong.

I also want Toritani at SS, Image at 3rd and Itoi in the outfield

so i'm guessing much better than MLB The Show if you have had any experience with that?

Without changing settings out of the box, am I on "easy" settings? I love the speed of the pitches in this game. I wish the Show had similar pitch speed. I really would love to dive into the 20 year season mode, but I just think I'd get lost
Yep, out of the box settings are too easy. Set pitch difficulty to Hard Minus, it has the most realistic balls/strikes ratio. If you go less than that there will be too many strikes, if you go higher than than you can draw walks but the CPU will start painting corners. Because there is a batting point you wont have alot of big misses, which is good because in that case it would be too easy to draw walks. You have to earn walks in this game with a good eye.

And regarding online - Cyphe is right the lag isn't bad at all. I've played guys in Japan with very little lag. It is difficult though because online uses "Real batting point", I think most mere mortals like me prefer Normal batting point. But in Japan players are hardcore and want the challenge, if you jump online to play those guys you're going to get wasted until you get some experience.

Way better....no comparison there.....and it also plays the same way it does offline, whereas the show feels like there is a difference in pitch speed between off and online

Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video

This game and thread has now caught my attention upon learning it plays on the PS3.

I have a few questions for the guys that have played the series/game.

How is the game speed? I've noticed that the videos it does seem slower than mlb the show, the movements, the ball traveling, things like that. Is it a huge difference playing it?

Also, how long does it take to play a game? I'm an older gamer, I'm patient sitting through and watching a baseball game, but my free time for actually playing video games only has a small window at times. One of my favorite baseball games of all time was MLB Power Pros because I felt it was realistic AND the best part you could get in a game around 20 minutes. Just curious. I can get games in the show in around 35-45 minutes depending on what happens in the game. If its around the same time as the show, Im good with it, if it''s quicker or has some cool fast play feature that would be a bonus for me.

I'm a baseball junkie and pretty much give every baseball game a try, so I'm not too hesitate at the price as long as it's good.

Re: PYS 2011 released - live streaming video

Are you speaking of actual physical movements of the players when the ball is in play? I can't say for that because I haven't made a 1:1 comparison to The Show... Maybe someone else can check?

I can tell you that presentation-wise, the game is faster than the Show. Of course you can tap X after each pitch and animations reset pretty quickly, both for the pitcher and batter. The advantages are for skipping ingame cutscenes (there are less of them happening than the Show) and replays (PYS replays are usually shown realtime rather than slow-mo).

If Power Pros was your fav game, this one is right up your alley. They're both PawaPuro productions.

I picked up PYS 11 fpr PS3 and am loving it.

However, I was wondering how similar is the PSP version? what major features are missing in comparison to its PS3 counterpart?

Games speed as in-game can be deceiving, because PYS' physics really dictate game speed......so I guess it all depends on how well you hit the ball and in what area of the "sweet spot"...***nning? it all depends on who the runner is...and how well they run...this game has a TRUE rating for all players individually and speed is split in running bases and defensive area of coverage by defender.....so while a player has speed it doesn't mean they are a stealing base machine....it could be that they cover alot of ground on the field......pitching? same concept applies.....it depends on how well that pitcher can throw.....power....speed...location.....control... ...they all come in effect for each pitcher individually.

Another thing that makes a difference in game speed is SETTINGS.....that higher the difficulty the faster the in-game play.....however the balancing of the game is not affected...everything speeds up accordingly to maintain the realistic gameplay.

As for game length as SqueakyD said....you can press 'X" to skip all the cutscenes and proceed to game....it would be like 20-30 min for a regular 9 inn game.....if you stay to watch all the cutscene and wait for the batter and pitcher to reset after every pitch.....it probably be 45min to an hour.

Bottom line is if you love MLB Power Pros, you will love PYS 2011 as it is more realistic than any other game you might have played....and MLB PP is actually an "arcadey" version of PYS

About how long does play-asia take to ship? I ordered it Friday but I haven't received any shipping confirmation e-mail yet, and my card hasn't been charged either. I ordered quick shipping (UPS, 1-4 days) too...

Japan is ahead by several hours, so it was probably past business hours when you ordered? So I'd expect them to not start your order until Monday.
