Check out www.npbtracker.com, lots of good nuggets throughout the season. You can also go directly to NPB's official website, www.npb.or.jp/eng.

Thanks guys!! When I fire this up tonight if I play an exhibition which 2 teams should I play the game with. Also, are default settings fine? Do I or should I change anything before my first pitch?

Ordered the game today from playasia. Italian postal service is very annoying so I'll probably have to pay import taxes. But who cares, after reading this thread and watching the videos, looks like it's really worth the wait and the eventual extra price to pay. Can't wait until I have the game in my hands.

Yeah, start with default settings and then tweak them later. You should start with a good offensive team like the Dragons, Tigers, or Giants (ofcourse). That way you can get a feel for the game without becoming overly agitated; and play against the Baystars, they suck.

First thing I'd do is install the game, it's located in the first option of the "Utility" column of the main menu, and within that menu the option to install is in the bottom right corner. Video of how to do that.

I second everything sgt pepper said. But if you want to get frustrated, play as the Marines. Just sayin'.

I just played a game as Yokohama, talk about frustrating. Lost to the Carp 4-8, my bullpen came into the game in the bottom of the 8th and continued to give up 4 runs to break a 4-4 tie (3 of which were solo homeruns). I ended the game with an infield fly out with the bases loaded, grrrrrrr. On a positive note, hit a 2-run homer with B. Harper in the 1st inning. Unfortunately, it was pretty much downhill from there.

HEY!!!!! I still love my BayStars......plus, if you learn to play the game with them.....then use other teams....it's like a walk in the park......but, you do need to learn ALL players of any team to because they all have different stregths and weaknesses and control differently.....specially pitchers

As much as I would love to play this, the price tag is a little intimidating. But it looks so awesome. If only The Show implemented a hitting system like PYS' or Power Pros'.

The price for the new games are definitely high, but I know a few of us have encouraged new folks to look on ebay for the older games in the series. IMO, PYS 6 (as in Part 6, not year) is a good start because the game also includes the World Baseball Classic '09 teams, so you can play as MLB players on their respective international teams.

That's cool. I don't mind playing as Japanese players who I (mostly) haven't heard of, though. I've always had an interest in NPB (go BayStars) even if I'll probably never get to see a game in person.

I just gave in and ordered it too. I've been reading about PYS for years. I can't take it any more, I want to play it, not read about it and watch videos of it on YouTube.

Lol, thanks. The level of depth combined with the Japanese is a little intimidating too, but at least there's spiritstranslation. The guys behind it look like they've done a great job.

Ordered with UPS, which apparently takes 1-4 days... I can't wait for it to get here.
