MVP 05 was the be all, end all to baseball video games. Me and my roommate and my brother and his roommate plowed through seasons.

I don't remember if it was realistic, I don't remember how mechanics were. I just remember how much fun it was.

Yeah....not really though.

My co-workers and I have played COD 3 ad infinitum.
Definitely not the most realistic....but it was the most fun we've had playing a game together.
Is it the end all be all though?

Not even close.
Great memories though.

Played this game the other day for old times sake, man did it look horrible lol the players look like goons with Football player shoulder pads.
Played 2k5 as well that game looked better but not much.

They were great for their time for sure.

Its crazy when you realize how bad these games are compared to now.

MVP Baseball 2005 isn't bad even in 2012 in my opinion. It doesn't look great, but the players are proportioned realistically. They resemble their actual build in real life. The ball actually has a good level of physics and the sounds aren't bad either.

Overall, it's still a good game really. People can hate on the game all the want, but the fact that they are hating on it in 2012 says something positive about the game if you think about it.

What other baseball game from 2005 gets discussed this much ?

I want the overall most realistic game ever. and right now the Show is giving that to me. MVP is long gone for me, haven't touched it since I got a PS3 and the Show.

Im not hating by any means. Its still not terrible but compared to the show now (obviously) its not as good.
As for the "what other old game gets talked about that much"

Why these two tittles? because they were stripped from us. They were on top and they were stripped from us. If MLB the show somehow got discontinued right now, and all we had was MVP or 2k it would be the same thing 6-7 years from now people would still be like you are right now. Cherrishing it.

(im not coming down on you for that either, its understandable, just look at the circumstance as to why its cherrished)

Oh man I loved MVP 05. I just couldnt get enough of it until my damn brother got a PS3 and got me hooked on The Show 08. After that I just couldnt go back to MVP.
