    Re: Questions for ASB Man

Can you play with Throwback unis in your Franchise, like in WSB? Thanks, and I can't wait for the game, you guys are doing a great job.

      Re: Questions for ASB Man

      ASB_Man,

Thanks for all the great info. It will be tough deciding which baseball games will be the keeper this year. I think it's great to have so many choices.

      My question:

      1. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE the new fielding camera. I think it will add alot to the "feel of the game."
It will probably be that breakthrough technology that all games will eventually implement. The question is this, let's say I'm in centerfield and there is a runner on 2nd. A fly ball is hit to the left center gap. I catch the ball and fire to third. Is there a cut scene for third baseman to field the throw? Do I have to control the 3rd baseman? I think that would be cool.

      2. What will be the cut off date for the final roster to be put in the game? Rumor has you guys releasing the game in mid-February. Is this a little early? Especially considering there are still alot of FA's still out there and that there is usually a fair amount of activity in Spring training. How long does it take to update the rosters in the game from a programming standpoint? When do you anticipate the first roster update?

      Thanks alot.

      Mike

            Stoud...and ASB..
Playing in Forbes, Polo Grounds and Ebbets(during the season) would be tremendous!!
Maybe I amd being overly optimistic here, but I can see ASB(if not 2005 then 2006) being the ABSOLUTE best SPORTS game ever! I had never even tried ASB until last year(when 3dO ruined High Heat IMO) and I was so enamored with the way that ASB2004 made you feel like the league was dynamic, that I could not stop playing. I never even owned a console until last year! I bought the XBbox, just to play ASB. Other baseball games(WSB is pretty close though) just felt stagnant. I always felt like I was playing 162 single games and the rest of the league played before...or after my games. The first time I saw the scoreboard reflect the proper scores of games in the league I said to myself....FINALLY someone gets it right!
The dressing of the stadium for opening day and the playoffs...
The changing of Wrigley through the season....
Pitchers wearing their jackets when it's cold....
The pitchers actually warming up in the bullpens....
            The working scoreboards.....
and now that ASB will incorporate an in game sports ticker with scores(and stats?) of other games in the league...they are just distancing themselves on the field...
Off the field( the GM operations) ASB was already second to none. Even OOTP does not have the RuleV draft!!

That reminds me....I could never put a player on waivers...and pull him back if someone claimed him. The ASB Rulebook states that if I don't take a player off of the 40 man roster and place him on waivers in order to send him down...I would be able to take him back if someone claimed him.
Here is the situation. I play as the Mets...I try to send Mo Vaughn to the minors...it tells me I must put him on waivers....the Giants claim him...I thought I would be able to pull him back..and then be forced to keep him on the regular season roster for the remainder of the season. I thought that only if I took him off the 40 man roster...and then tried to pass him through waivers..or gave him unconditional waivers...would I lose him. Any ideas? Maybe the three waivers(as it states in the ASB Rulebook) just never made it into the game.

            Thanks

One more thing, sometimes during a franchise the "Play Next Game" button couldn't be pressed and if you saw it after saving then you franchise is ruined

A few qouestions and comments for asb man.

                              1. During franchise games can we select any stadium to play in, it would be nice.

                              2. One way to speed up game is not to let foul balls drift into stands so far back but rather cut right back to batter pitcher interface.

                              3. Glad to here injuries will be increased during the season.

                              4. Will there be an ability to change leagues in franchise before season like braves in al east.

Thank you for your answers and continued success on your grade A product
