Re: Questions for ASB Man

Wow dude, incredable post ASB Man.

Originally this year I was going to sit out baseball although Live play was intreguing me. Then I picked up the ESPN demo and it did not seem like much had changed from last years WSB which I owned. However, that demo was enough to get the baseball jones started so now I've been pouring over all the threads trying to decide what title to get.

I really want something online and beacuse I wasn't overly impressed by Sega's new demo I started looking at ASB for the first time. I just have to say WOW.

The movies posted on this site for ASB look fantastic (well, minus the squat thing but considering I started playing baseball games with solid pixilated stick men it is easy to overlook). You guys have done a great job with animations otherwise. When I watch the MVP movies (the 1 or 2 that aren't some non-gameplay promo) I see a considerable amount of pop but not with ASB. Great great looking stuff.

Another thing I can say is from all the movies nobody has the announcers as spot on as you guys (MVP is abismal). In one ASB movie the announcer pauses on a blooper fly call until the ball is actually caught. Fantastic stuff.

I dig the batting and fielding movies I have seen as well and everyone raves about the stadiums so I don't see any problems there. My only concern is, never having played an ASB title, the pitching. Can you please explain the pitching options in more depth? I think MVP has a good idea with the swing meter but really didn't mind WSB last year after turning off the aim icons and strike zone outline and just pitching by vibration. Does ASB have that?

One other question is regarding online. Does the host get to pick the various pitching, batting, fielding options/cameras or can each player pick what they like best or there only one default for online play? (and if you could - same question for offline head to head as well?)

      Thanks

Hey ASB Man--Thanks for all of your answers. Question, and this is the deal breaker--are you aiming for the serious sim crowd like HH or is your audience more of an MVP one? I have a feeling its the sim crowd, which I am hoping for.. Thanks again.

Will there be an option to let the computer control my pitcher on defense? I liked this option last year, thank you.

Is there any home run music this year for teams other than the Astros?

Do you think there will be sliders in a near future ASB game?

What are some other ways (than Operation Sports) to let ASB game developers know about our game ideas?

                        Thanks again.
