    Re: Questions for ASB Man

    ASB Man,

My kudos to you and the game as well!

One request - can you please advise if the rosters are editing friendly? In other words, EA tends to frustrate the 3rd party editors out here and force certain restrictions in the games - only certain numbers can be used for linemen, WRs, etc...in Madden. Stuff like that.

What alot of people are hoping here is that we are allowed to do whatever we want with both created and edited player. Why? Bceaue a ton of us are classic team junkies and we'd like the ability to recreate old teams, or even full seasons. All current games fall short in that category for licensing and legal reasons. We understand that. Just give us the ability to do it ourselves.

Is there any hope for this for our community? Specifically, based on what you know about the editing rules now, could we create the 61 Yanks, 55 Dodgers, 62 Giants, etc...?

If not, is there any chance the developers would consider unlocking stuff so we could?

    Thanks!

                  One more question.

Will the CPU contrlloed batters be programmed to use practice swings before the pitch. I didn't get last years ASB game, but if I remember correctly in the 2003 version the CPU batters would just come up to the plate & not use any practice swings. Not that it's that big a deal, but it's just kinda unrealistic that way.

Will ASB this year use points to sign players or money?
Will player ratings be by a letter or number?

                              Re: Questions for ASB Man

I got a couple of questions for ASB Man, thanks in advance on taking the time out of your schedule to answer these.

                              1) Being the stat junkie I am, I was very upset on some of the stat glitches. Namely how occasinaly the game only gave credit to the pitchers for 8 2/3 of work, when I pitched 9 innings. One time it gave me 9 1/3 of work. No like. Also, as someone mentioned, you don't have stats like batters and pitchers facing righties and lefties AVG, even though you used to have these in the old 2000 and 2001 versions on N64. Oh, and the game should not continue keeping track of season stats in the playoffs of franchise mode! Has all this been fixed, and have more stats to look at been added? I do like the all time franchise leader stats, that's a great idea, hope that is still there. Oh, maybe add like a section saying who the World Series champ has been every year, and update every year in franchise mode at the end of the season

                              2) I say this will love... THE AI is terrible! Most perdictable pitching in the world. On "All-Star" difficulty, I still have a .390 AVG, lead in most batting categories, and rarely strikeout except when I face pitchers like Randy Johnson and Pedro Martinez. From reading this, it seems zone hitting is harder, and that will be the default, but I also have read that it isn't that much harder. Will the AI be smarter, know how to get us humans out more, and make it more challenging? I'd prefer challenging in a sense of 3-2 scores rather than just improving thier hitting so all the games are 20-18, because I prefer pitching over hitting.

                              3) As someone else said, will managers be there? Can you hire/fire them like in Madden? I'd like to see a lot of the junk they have in Madden, to some degree. Making money, advertising, free agency competition in the offseason, etc. You know what I mean, you've heard it a thousand times. Maybe not all they ahve, but if nothing else more minor league development, but from what I've read that has been improved, and I thank you for that.

Thanks again, and sure hope to see lots of stats, less stat glitches, and better AI. I usually never buy a sports game 2 years in a row, but after reading all this, I am defenitely considering it this time.
