PYS12 PSVita
Just wondering if any one has the PSvita version of PYS12. Would love to hear whether or not you guys like this game. Was thinking about adding this game to my Vita collection. Im here in the States so I was thinking about ordering it from play-asia . Or if someone is looking to get rid of theirs, let me know and we can work out a deal.PSN: ckarlic

Re: PYS12 PSVita
I have the Vita version and it's amazing - the best Vita game available and nobody even knows it existsThe graphics & fluidity of the animations are stunning. Basically, they took the PS3 version and shrunk it down, it's not some crappy version put out by a different dev team - and they didn't remove any modes due to space constraints. The only (minor) complaint is that sometimes cut-scenes slow down a bit.
Being that it plays just like it's big brother the only difference is that you have smaller sticks. In our forums some Vita players have had issues adjusting and some haven't. 2012 is tough because the devs took steps to keep scoring low so that's part of the problem. Personally, I can get a realistic amount of hits but situational hitting is a bear - expect low, tight scores.
My Vita is tied to a Japan PSN account. Thus, I can also play the digital PSP version of PYS 2011. That version is more forgiving & easier to play with the smaller sticks (of course you'll take a big hit in the graphics though.)
Also easier to play is Power Pro 2012 on Vita, that has the stunning graphics that PYS has with addicting gameplay (again, we're working on PP translations and they will be available soon.)
You can't go wrong either way, I'd maybe start with Power Pro now then wait until PYS 2013 drops for the Vita - hopefully they'll open up gameplay more like 2010 & 2011 and it may have the WBC mode.Last edited by Spirits Translation; 02-01-2013, 01:29 PM.Comment

Re: PYS12 PSVita
I'd echo what Spirits has said. I own the Vita version and also the Vita version of The Show and whilst clear concessions have been made in the MLB game in comparison to its big brother, that's not the case with PYS. It's the same game. One's little, one's big, but content is the same. Celebrations and the like are all present.Comment

Yes, you can do CPU vs CPU. Gotta love this game, pitchers actually lose a little stamina when they're at-bat and swing at a pitch! Think you're gonna go up there with your big .150 average and go all Jose Canseco? Uh-uhComment

Re: PYS12 PSVita
This is the first time in a few months I've visited this section of the site so I didn't realize someone called out...
Indeed I find the Vita version of PYS12 to be quite impressive. This being my first PYS, I cannot talk about the game in comparison to the other versions of PYS... but the game really is nicely done. The graphic is very sharp and crisp, there are so many fully playable modes, etc. I wonder how you English natives ever can fully enjoy everything... it's quite dense in contents!!
I haven't put as many hours into the gameplay as I should have to give any sort of useful impression of the gameplay itself (I mostly hang around in The Show forum, so you can kinda guess I'm a lot more inclined toward hardcore simulation over arcade-ish fun... I enjoy Diamond Mind and stuff like that very much), but I can understand why some people prefer this style of baseball game over the Show.
I think it's a very nice representation of the Japanese league as well... when I was a kid I never really liked baseball offerings from Konami, but I say this is a very nice evolution that I've been missing.Comment

Re: PYS12 PSVita
Man, I wish they would just come out with a Western version of PYS. Sounds like a good game, but it seems like such a pain in the butt to have to translate everything in the game. Also, I am a bit concerned about the low scoring nature of PYS - I like average to high offense, rather than skewing low. Meanwhile, I can't stand the look of Power Pros, so that's out.Comment

Re: PYS12 PSVita
Have you actually tried playing Power Pro's? I used to think the cartoony models looked ridiculous (looking at the images), but it plays so smooth and I get a kick out of the animations. Very fun & addicting! If you haven't tried it you should definately give it a shot. I can understand passing if you have a PS3, but hungry Vita users looking for a game to play here you go!Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
