    Re: Manage only Mode Thread

How are the pitch counts, fatigue, etc? I'm looking for a console game and accuracy in stats, etc. is most important. AS looks like it may be the game for me.

2-0 count is the way I love to Manage.

I'm not entirely satisfied with this though, because your ace starters with an "A" Stamina will run out of gas in about 7 innings... maybe 6 if they are a strikeout ace, but, they usually can pitch an extra inning with less of their juice and still do fairly well, most of the time. Just have the pen ready though, because when it goes bad, it's like a damn breaking. Which to me adds some sense of realism with the extra dealing with... "well, can he make it one more batter? or should I go with Middle Reliever number 2 who is already warmed up, but if he gets this out and it's the last out in the bottom of the 8th, maybe he will be okay in the 9th to get the complete game." -- I love those types of decisions. If I can, I want the shutout, complete game, etc., you name it.

Just finished game one of my Twins, and beat the Indians 4-1. My pitchers scattered 12 hits, one for a double) no walks and 3 K's, while my batters only had 5 hits, but 3 walks, 6 k's and one triple and one home run, and a sac fly. It was a classic defensive, bend but don't break job, well done by my boys, meanwhile they performed an offensive drought at times, but lived large in the "get them in bunches, and make them hurt when you get 'em!"

I've actually had less pitching duels than I've had games of the good old 6 to 5, or 11 to 3 varieties.
And I swear, the 2-0 count really makes the difference.

This post will be sort of a bump but I don't want this thread getting buried. Again, TO ANYONE WITH THE POWER, CAN WE GET THIS THREAD STICKIED?

But I have a question, do any of you guys who use Fischbach as your expansion stadium get consistent homers in that park?

                        Update: Manage only play
After 20 games into the regular season and using 2 ball 0 strikes: my team's hitters have 2nd or 3rd lowest stat count for walks and strikeouts, on both the offensive and defensive side of the plate. Team batting average is almost top in the league, team ERA is top, and while homers are more plentiful than last year, they still fall short of expectations.
I'm moving to 2-1 count for a while, and did just experiment with a 3-1 and 3-2 counts.
3-1 is nasty... if the opposing pitcher has a B+ or better accuracy then he's fine, but if he's B- or lower, expect to give up 6 walks within the first 4 innings.
And with any total pre-generated count of higher than 3 pitches, even the A Endurance starters are winded by the 6th inning, so some funky things happen after that. Both good and bad.
But on the whole, with 2-0 count, the runs scored were somewhat fairly correct or reasonable.

I still have not found a setting that I like best, maybe doing 2-1 on odd days and 2-0 on even days? Sigh. It is fun testing this though.
