I would dig ESPN, but they are high on something and you cant use your updated rosters online.

So far, ASB has shaped up the most of the bunch, and all for the better it seems.

Anyone else really high on this game??

The problem with zone hitting is that it's too damn easy. Just ask Steve.

This was a major turn off for me last year, and it seems to be in this year's game as well.

I hate the 3D cursor hitting. It gives the batter too much control to hitting the ball.

Only choice for me would be the 2D cursor, but this again didn't allow for a variety of hit types. Most of my hits last year using 2D hitting were up the middle.

Re: ASB2005 looks to be the clear winner this year....

This year I have to say I will be getting both ASB and MVP. I have always liked ASB back since it's N64 Days. The fact of the matter is the only way to get a realistic feel of hitting the ball you'd have to play a game were you yourself actually swing the bat(as a controller or something like those ones at video arcades). So what I'm saying is that the fact that ASB is giving you a choice for both zone and cursor hitting makes it a good game. Also there is no other game with a franchise that is as in-depth as ASB. MVP on the other hand looks good cause of the minor leagues and team chemistry and other minor things like that. I think the last good SEGA video games were back on dreamcast, now they have tried to become like everyone else and for some reason there game is just not as good IMO. Inside Pitch has no franchise mode(or at least they didnt last year) and that totally threw the game down the drain for me. The whole thing is that we shouldn't really be having this argument, if thats what you would like to call it, because it's all based on personal opinion. You have to get what game suits YOU best and not some game reviewer from a magazine. My advice if your undecided is to take the extra time and rent the game before you buy it so you dont wast 50 bucks and end up not liking a game and trading it in to only get 25$ worth of credit back in return. ANd thas all I have to say

Well, he kind of is, except for the fact that now ESPN has A-Rod and Maddux on the right teams, and that's what many people complained about.

ASB would be a GREAT game if there was more hit variety and if there weren't so many first-pitch hits.

In addition, following up on the hit variety comment, asb_mann has stressed that they have worked on improving hit variety in his thread, he's said this numerous times. Don't let the videos fool you. I'm tellin you guys now, we just have to wait until we get the games in our own hands to see what the game really plays like. Many of these reviewers from gaming websites, as someone mentioned earlier, dont get to play these games a long time, specifically sports games, and only tend to look for graphics and animations to "wow" them. Don't let the videos fool you, just wait until the game comes out to see for yourself.

ASB would be a GREAT game if there was more hit variety and if there weren't so many first-pitch hits.

Steve said he's swinging at all the first pitches in order to get as much in the videos as possible. Look at the CPU vs. CPU vids, and they always go deep into the count.
