    I am not...

BK, you seem to already have a pretty strong opinion about ASB05. First you slam it on the MVP board and proclaim that you'll buy every baseball game made this year - except ASB - because even a person with a "weak will" wouldn't be tempted to buy ASB05. Then you come into the ASB board and post in a thread for people who do plan to buy the game just to let everyone here know you're not going to. I'd say that's beyond disinterest. That's straying toward vindictiveness... for a game that hasn't been released yet.

OK, I'll play along. What is it about the new game that has already made you decide you're not going to buy it - and to go around to all the boards telling everyone how awful it is?

    <hr /></blockquote><font class="post">

I went around the boards and told everyone how awful it is?? Don't you think that's a bit extreme? I have made 2 posts total on ASB in the last 6 months.

But if you must know, after the last couple years disaster of a game, it will take a lot of convincing before Acclaim gets another 50 bucks out of me. They have all the bells and whistles but the game play is putrid, most notable the batter pitcher interface.

Cursor hitting was way, way to easy, and with zone hitting you hit about 99% of the pitches to the middle part of the field. Game had so many little issues on the field that it was a chore to finish a game.

Gameplay isn't one single thing. It's fielding, hitting mechanics, pacing, collision detection, physics, pitch speeds, authenticity, and on and on. And several people mention things that are gameplay elements.

The only gameplay element you listed above that anyone has mentioned is collision detection. No one has mentioned any of the other game play elements. At least in this thread which is what the original question is about.

Only one thing will get me to buy ASB 2005, seeing as how I want a baseball game for XBOX live. It has to play a better game of baseball than ESPN, IMO. If it does ... purchase. If it doesn't ... no purchase. Pretty simple. I'm looking forward to giving it a try after a 1 year hiatus.

My FIVE solid reasons for buying this game is this.... EXPANSION PLAY! This has been my main reason for buying this game the past few years. Oh that, and the fact that I love the gameplay. Hope that works!
I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.

I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I feel pretty much the same about EA. NCAA has been their only game in recent years to hold my attention. However I have gotten enough good feedback from people I trust that have played this years MVP, to give it a shot this year.
